Hell Horse changes [PVP]

Hell horses are out of control. There is literally no requirement to ride them outside of a little bit of taming skill. It's already annoying that everyone rides into battle leading a ###### ton of horses. It's usually a battle on who can kill the most amount of horses. I would like to see the number of hell horses in battle reduced.

 

First Suggestion: Only allow Champions the ability to ride Hell Horses.

 

Second suggestion: Remove the ability to lead any horses when riding a Hell Horse.

+1 the hell horse meta has been pretty cancerous for a long time, especially with the lead horse spam behind you

just make hellhorses as fast as normal horses, but they hold their speed instead of having boosts like normal ones...

 

or idk...make them just as fast as normal ones and make em tankier

make em not get a speed reduction with bardings

 

there is a lot of things you can do rather than keeping them as fast as bugattis

 

+1, huge problem for pvp

Hell Horses work exactly like the way you described in your first sentence.

 

Making them tankier would make it worse than it is now. :)

 

 

I think the simple solution is to just do a piece of code that says if horse takes damage, then re-check its speed instantly, making it slower the moment it gets hit.

-1 especially to the part about making them available to champions only. Why would we make the hardest players to kill also the ones with a speed/mobility advantage

-1 normal horses are not bad because they are slow, they're bad because they are literally RNG.... you don't get caught because ur horse can't reach 40km/h cause it can... u get caught cause it will go from 40 to 20 in the gist of an eye... literally worthless

I am on the fence on this. There is already a high bar to use them (31 bc, 60+ taming to tame even remotely reliably) and those skills arent easy to achieve. This is both a blessing and a bane. But it also means newer players are dead in the water when it comes to pvp because they cant outrace 90% of the server population. 

 

I dont think anyone would be affected if their speed was lowered, however. No issues with that.

Any reason why we shouldn't be able to spur or whip a horse to gallop? Maybe give horses stamina bars so you can't gallop all the time, but unlike people, once you run a horse out of stamina, you can keep galloping at the expense of the horse's health (and yes, you would be able to gallop a horse to death).
