Diagonal highway confused

Recommended Posts

I have combed wurm forums and google what could, but no luck. I am trying to go with the slope of the land. Done well wit flattening borders widthwise on tiles go east. Now i am beginning to to have to go Diagonal and heading up hill....... I not really know how to keep it smooth looking tips? It is going to be a Highway  so trying to make things right.

A diagonal highway is a combination of full tile paving and paving triangles.

Here is a grid:

Here are the first tiles to pave - the full tiles:

Now pave the "corner nearest to you" on either side:

This makes a legal highway, 2-tiles wide, but appears narrower and possibly more visually pleasing to you.

awe....  What method is use for  going up hills will on tearing a massive sid of it out? Trying to go with the terrain? Or would it be border flattening still? Want to try to keep slope not harsh and not  having to drop

First stage of diagonal is all you need to meet highway standards.

So I think the key to really good road building is dirt.

Either you’re bringing and dropping a lot of dirt to ensure every tile is 12, or 15, or at most 20 slope.  Or you’re bringing containers and digging out a lot of dirt to ensure every tile is 12, or 15, or at most 20 slope.  If the hill has a gentle slope of less than 12, then you just go with it, and pave along the natural contours to preserve the beauty.  But in steeper climes, it may mean losing a bit of the natural slope in order to maintain good road slope of 12, 15, or at most 20.

Then do the same next to it, so the highway is 2-tiles wide:

A whole year of trying to get this right

And you thaught me with a couple of pictures.
