Hello, I'll keep this short. If you don't know me then you might not be interested in what I have to offer here, but I'm an old-school Wurm player. I'm here to try and reconnect with anyone who might still be here and is interested in starting something in a little game called Chronicles of Elyria.

 

The game is not yet available to play as a pre-alpha release yet, but if you want to get involved now then you will have a say in the structure of things to come. The tier I'm pledged at means I'll be founding a city. I've also connected with another founder in Elyria, and we'll be merging our two cities. There are a lot of unknowns currently on how exactly everything will function and work, but if you want to get involved now, then we have plenty of openings.

As a side note... the political structure is set up like this: players can be kings, dukes, counts, barons, mayors, and so on in that order. You can read up on the political environment of the kingdom, duchy, and county. We've chosen for our city in the following posts on the CoE forums.

If you have any questions about the game I'll try to answer them as best I can. There are some unique features to this game that I think really set it apart. For one, you age, die, and are reborn.

 

Here's just one example. Throughout your life, as you are killed you will be sent to a spirit world where you must travel back to your body. As your body ages, the less time you have to get back to your body in the spirit world. Eventually, you will pass on, and be reborn as one of your heirs or another individual if you wish.

 

I know a lot of people aren't interested in permadeath in games. However, if you are interested in this concept then I encourage you to learn more about the game.

Hahaha sounds about how things usually go. I asked Dilzi (a RL friend of mine) if he still remembers you which he does. It was funny cos we were talking about how at the start of G2 afew months in we were both citizens of Starblaze and one day he wandered of hunting and ended up so lost that he gave up trying to get back and joined Akhenaten instead and abandoned me  

It's always nice seeing old names pop up every now and again because it brings back forgotten memories like that that are actually really nice! All the best mate

This game looks great. Too bad we probably won't see anything playable for another couple years at least.

Yeah, they are set to currently release the game late 2019, and that date is still far enough off that it could easily get pushed back. Thankfully though they are about to begin alpha testing of the game in the next couple months. They also have a couple pre-release games that should be out soon that will help to create the lore and history of the game. From what I've seen from them, they are very community driven and plan to allow their player base to direct the story of the game. They have already created official content based on player kingdoms that have been set up. It is pretty cool. Here is a video of that:

Greetings everyone. Got an update for anyone who is interested. CoE is going to be running an event in the next few days called "The Searing Plague"

Basically, there are the Pure and the Plagued. The Pure are those of us who have bought a package to play the game. The Plagued are those who do not. To be a part of the game as plagued you have to be an "active" community member. Not sure what active means, but maybe create a forum account and say hello. https://www.chroniclesofelyria.com/forum

The mechanics of the event haven't completely been revealed yet, but if anyone is interested in getting a free package by being cured of the plague then please join us at our Kingdom Discord channel and let them know Kinoss sent ya.

Hello folks. I thought I'd post an update. Currently, CoE is going through map voting for their servers. They are letting the community decide which map we want for our server. We'll be wrapping up voting this week, and then in a few weeks, we'll go through domain selection. Domain selection is where everyone (King, Duke, Count, Baron, and Mayor) gets to decide where their lands will be. Its all pretty exciting and a lot of us have been eagerly waiting for this. the game isnt gonna come out for like 2-3 years theres no point in hyping people up this early, also isnt this the game where alpha costs 400$?

Alpha 1 access is restricted to people who paid for it earlier on. You can still get it if you purchase a larger package, but you can buy Alpha 2 access from the merchandise store for $65. There are also cheaper options for Beta1 and Beta2 if you don't want to play a very unpolished game.

 

It is true however that it will likely be a couple years before the full release of the game arrives, but slowly people are joining and we are having a fun time building a community and playing other games in the meantime.
