I know it has something to do with the fact the bsb/fsb load limit is based on weight/volume, not the number of items, but the numbers are somewhat confusing.

its based on volume of these items, not the number, so if they increased the size of the bsb to hold 2000 rock shards then it would also hold 2.3x more everything else

 

not sure if its a bad thing or not

 

a crate rack with 30 large crates will hold 9,000 shards where as a single bsb rack will only hold about 3400 shards
