Many crashes after 1.5.2 patch

Try at win7 32 and win7 64. With default Java and the latest (at fact game not use any Java anything else 'runtime' folder for me)
OverrideJavaRegEntry=true with path not working for me- at logs same Java as in 'runtime' folder.

The game can crash without any error windows too. Crashing can be after a few minutes or more. Sometimes before game crashed after an hour, now every few minutes. I try to use default setting, resize window 800x600 (all minimum), windowed fullscreen - same; -Xmx2048m, or -Xmx3072m applets (at Java configure menu) too - not help at all. If in LaunchConfig MaxHeapSize >1024m launcher not start at all (32 bit win7 and 64 bit too). Reinstall game 4 times - no result. Update drivers, reinstall Java - no result.

 

1.4 previous ver working fine (Fullscreen) before, but now crashed too.

This is a very low amount of memory/free memory  and the new client seems to be using more memory for some people. 

Wurm tends to crash a lot on 32-bit java (which is your only option with the 32-bit Win7 shown here) and since the new client seems to use more memory, I would not be surprised to see it crashing even more now since the patch, especially on a computer with only 3 gigs of ram.

It probably means even less free memory free on the 64-bit windows, so unfortunately that may not be much better.

 

 

It sounds like a pretty decent computer other than not really having enough ram for gaming. That is something that is probably worse with the new client. 

I would probably try turning all settings down as much as possible, including things like: antialiasing reflections particles renderdistance. Put all of those off or at the lowest setting you can.

Right now you have a few of those turned up (shadows are off which helps some). Try turning off also GLSL, I seemed to use less memory with this off. 

Even though you look to have a decent CPU/GPU, there is just too little memory on this computer for running at higher settings.

 

Make sure also to run using a CLEAN BOOT (clean startup) and with no background programs running, including no programs like browsers and chat. 

Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program

 

 

 

Also when you update graphics drivers, be sure to use the ones from ATI/AMD here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download 

try to have it run driver only and not any of the extra software they are installing these days. 

Don;t use Windows to update the graphics drivers as they only use the microsoft version of the driver. 

This may not affect anything though as it looks more to be crashing from low memory.

2 days ago wurm work more than 3h without errors in high settings, but now in all minimum same as all maximum.

And one problem - with 64 bit win7 (I have both OS win7 32 and win7 64 PC with close to same configuration) game not using 64 bit java... game not start at all if I copy-paste java to runrime folder;

PC: core i7 930, 4gb ram, AMD radeon r7 370; java 1.8.0.151 (only 64 bit in 64 bit win7), graphic test with newest 17.11.1 and 17.7.2  and old 16.3 (with old version game work more fine at fact). Driver profile to game - all 'as game setting', all another (tessellation for example) off.

Play 4-5 days with crashes every 2-3h, start some times ago to finding path to game without crashing, but now game crashed every 3-20 minute.

 

Plus actually game client doesn't use more than 1.2 GB ram no matter what I do.

Today play about 3h before black textured models show (if it present then after 1-2 minute crash so I just exit game)

This black models I think is Out of memory (1285) at log.

 

But hey, nothing changed but I play today 2+ hour non-stop at win7 32 bit - great.

Problem solved.

Before I use on 64 bit OS files, which I download from 32 bit OS steam. After check files from 64 bit steam, runtime folder re-download (from 32 java to 64, but Wurm unlimited client still ignore installed on the PC version of java...).

Game work (64 bit win7) fine now.
