OpenJDK 1.9 includes OpenJFX: Anyone got it working?

Recommended Posts

Hi,(read footnote before commenting)

since OpenJDK 1.9 got released we do have the OpenJDK for linux. However, if I want to start the client launcher it shows me a white rect and than crashes. It sometimes shows some icons, but these aren't really in place. Since I prefer OpenJDK over Oracle Java, I am interested if someone got it working yet.

Any ideas, suggestions or maybe even a nice guide?

Regards

David

Footnote:

I'm aware that OpenJDK (i.e. iced-tea) is not officially supported. I know that there are people that think there is no real reason to not use Oracle Java. This is just a call for those hobbyists which does not only waster their time in a virtual reality but also waste time on tweaking and tinkering their own system with a lot of time just for the sake of getting it done. This is a rebellion against the limitation of my freedom to use the software I once chose and not obeying to some developers that don't care. ;)
