Posted August 14, 2017 I think it is not really a bug but a difference compared to the stable client. The water is way more transparent in the unstable client than in the stable one. It is a bit confusing looking at the shore from about 20-30 tiles distance it is quite hard to tell where the water ends and where the land starts if the slopes are low. Also a bit strange too see the deep sea bottom being very sharp and clear. During the night shallow water is quite invisible due to the same reason.
Posted August 14, 2017 you have water reflections turned on?
Posted August 14, 2017 Yes, sky& terrain. I use the same settings as for the stable.
Posted August 15, 2017 Could you provide comparison screenshots for us? It looks the same to me
Posted August 15, 2017 I will do a side-by-side for sure, I should have thought about it earlier...
Posted August 17, 2017 (edited) I have low quality with no reflections on and it looks like that (btw the knarr is painted to that color is fine): unstable client: vs. stable client: Edited August 17, 2017 by Sirene
Posted August 24, 2017 that is low settings turn them higher up and you'll see the true beauty of wurm:P
Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) Finally I've done the side-by-side mages. Apparently the water itself is quite identical but using the unstable it still looks like more transparent as the reflections are much more tuned down on it. Left side is stable, right is unstable, using the very same settings and two clients side by side on the same screen. First 3 pictures are the water comparison - I have added a fourth to compare the clouds, I really really fond of Wurm cloouds but the clouds on the unstable are far not that "fluffy", defined, 3D looking as on the stable... EDIT: one more thing I just realized and add to the less natural feel of shores: all the shorelines are straightened out on the unstable client (again all setting are identical on both clients). The jagged edge looks much more natural and adds to the feeling of a real water body next to the shore. Edited August 24, 2017 by Jaz
Posted August 24, 2017 Going to add this to another water issue I have as I see the same thing. Stable water is blue and natural looking while unstable seems to be more green and transparent.
Posted August 24, 2017 Thank you! Should I open a separate thread on the clouds?
