How about farming mushrooms in caves,,, perhaps in flower boxes.

+1 even if they were simply added as an option to pottery planter with the pre-req that they be underground.

Theres several ways to grow mushrooms which vary a bit depending on the variety.

 

Some work well in soil beds and decaying plant matter in dark moist rooms.

 

Some work well inserted into holes drilled into logs setup outdoors.

 

And so on and so forth.

 

Heck many parasitical mushrooms species can be picky about the species of tree they grow on.

I've spoken very highly of this, even brought biology into bare (Funghi are not plants)
this suggestion will occur 10 more times before i find the energy to collate it all.

Be cool if had Fungi tiles only spawn in caves when you knock down a rock tile.  Then can harvest that tile every so often.  Makes it little more random.

Honestly not fully sure why I'm so into this idea, just always liked the idea of being a mushroom farmer on games, maybe the comedy of growing shrooms? eh, who knows; I'm all for it :P

+1 or even an action on a birch tree tile or even leave a log on the ground after X amount of decay it produce random color mushrooms on the log or tile then right click tile or log and harvest mushrooms. just an idea but im up for anyway they can be added for farming.

Yeah, Dev's should just add the ability to plant the wild mushrooms into pots, exact same mechanic as growing herbs. I guess you can grow the herbs in pots in mines too?

They could use the swirl for getting a rare or supreme roll - the more you lick the longer it lasts ;p
