Mask of Rebirth Damaged When Hit - Undo

I made this as a bug report figuring that it's a bug that this mask got damaged. Learning it is not, I will have to strongly suggest that masks stop taking damage AT LEAST on PvE servers. These are cosmetic items with no effect other than looks and I don't see the need to damage them in fights and make players anxious about losing their items. To me, it is also upsetting that mine has taken damage - I take severe issue with this as I have OCD and both less than 99QL as well as this damage on the mask are an issue for me. Had I known that they would get damaged, I wouldn't have worn it but rather stored it in my bag of keeping lol.

 

 

Original Report:

 

I have one of the rare masks of rebirth, they're at 99QL and I was informed that they do not take damage when hit - thus I wore it. However, I was hit in the face once and it turned out with 0.01 damage already.

 

Apart from reporting this bug I'd also like to ask for these masks to be repaired and the damage fixed. The damage occurred due to this bug and if I repair it a fairly unique item will lose its 99QL but if I don't it will drive me nuts, which is a rather upsetting situation for such a nice event reward.

 

I'm not sure if this occurs with normal masks as well, I have not been in a fight with my non-rare mask.

That mask counts as face protection in the code, I would say works like intended. Christmas soft caps are also damaged during fights, even if they don't provide any active protection.

Aye, I thought it was intended too but I was clearly told that it does not take damage. If it's not a bug of course, I take it back - that is my own fault for getting it damaged based on a misinformation but if it is a bug I'd love to see it fixed

The few I have on epic, I forget the names, the shadow one that looks like a metal mouth cover and the owl looking one, I hunt without armor on and have been hit in the head/face many times, never took damage

Hrrrm. I wear drake helm and cloth hat on my alt and both Mask of the Isles and Returners have very light damage.

This is not a bug as all masks work the same way.  It's more of a suggestion and should be moved to that area as the devs are already aware of player preferences.
