Wurm Trade-Record Book

Recommended Posts

"Trade Record, Leather"

I suggest that there should be an item in-game that tracks transactions your character makes with other players.

Example:

A few weeks ago, I purchased some sprouts from the in-game trade channel.

It was a good deal, and I may be interested in more, but I have no idea who the trade was with.

In real life, I could go back into my check book or online transaction summaries and see who I bought them from.

In game, no such feature exists(aside from physically recording it in real time). With an item like this in game,

every time we accept a trade a record of it would be recorded automatically for future reference.

Features:

-Records the name of the person you traded with

-Records what you gave, and what you got

-Records the time and date of the trade

-Option to record manually via papyrus/reed for bulk sales, etc

Pros:

-Promotes the economy

-Encourages individual merchants to make a name for themselves

-Adds another book-like item to the game (like the Almanac)

Cons:

-Records "magically" (could be interpreted as unrealistic for game immersion)

-More clutter to carry around in-game

So, Trade Records? Pros outweigh the cons in my book! What do you all think!?

just check event logs

For me, that is emersion breaking.

Like sure, you could. But that's basically like going into the game files to find something out. I compare doing that to going into the code to find out what title you get at 90 skill or something similar. It detracts from my experiance of the game.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe its just me.

I +1 this. But, I kind of also see where @Lei is coming from.
Can always write the names of good sellers down as you go. Think that's what most of us do currently.

It's a nice idea, but I think if we are gonna start having more stuff to carry around like books, we should be able to store them on book shelves (just make book shelves we have now a container) so we don't need to carry them all the time.

I'm not sure how this is supposed to work if trading is (at least for most) usually just accepting coins and unloading crates, but it still sounds like a nice thing.

I like nice things.
