[Resolved] The case of the dissapearing text

Recently when I load up Wurm I have no text. I have to load up my friends account then load up mine to get my text back then quit his account.

Any ideas.

I have just installed the latest version graphics drivers if thats any help

can you take a screen shot so we have an idea what "no text" looks like.

 

I am not clear if you accidentally hit F10 and turned off all the user Interface, or if the UI is all there just no letters in the menu boxes...

No text.. Always on the first load up.. Have to load in a second client to get the text then stop the first one

 Weird!

 

 

 

1) Do you use a 4K monitor? Those have problems in wurm with various UI issues, I have heard

 

2) Is this a PC, Mac or Linux system?

 

3) What settings do you have in gamesettings.txt for these lines;

 

font_antialias=2

font_static=11

font_monospaced=11

 

4) can you post console.charactername.log so that we can see which drivers you are using?

 

 

 

Might need one of the client devs for this.

 

Did anything else change around the same time -- new computer hardware, upgrade to Win10, ?

Not 4k

Windows 7 on PC

 

font_antialias=2

font_static=12

font_monospaced=11

 

I have 2 characters and It happens on either one that I load in first.

 

Recently there was a new Nvidia graphics driver update

Thats all thats changed and it started missing the text so I deleted wurm and am using a brand new install and its still the same

 

Edit  I also have a Microphone option at the bottom of the screen on the right that I didnt have before and dont have on my other PC

It shows the Geforce Experience Shadowplay recording icon in the lower right corner, that might mess things up and would also explain why it only happens on the first client; try disabling it

Strange thing is I had to install Geforce experience to turn it off :)  But it seems to be working... Thanks for the advice.
