Posted March 14, 2017 A recent thread about duel wielding, and that there are no plans to address any time soon got me thinking about something that could be implemented and give something to people who want to duel wield without taking to much dev time. Off hand weapon would go into the shield slot instead of the left hand. The "Bash" option in combat would be replaced with an "Attack" button. This attack button would function like the bash button, needs to be manually clicked and delays your normal attack until the action ends. The attack would make rolls at say 70% of weapon skill in terms of hit and damage. There could also be a reduced parry chance for the off hand weapon and/or a parry cooldown after attacking with the off hand weapon.
Posted March 14, 2017 Ah... dual wielding already exists. In fact it was for a long time the preferred usage (dual longswords) until a series of changes encouraged shields, especially in pvp.

The thread I mentioned was And it just got me thinking about something that could be done to make people who like to duel wield happy and since Retro said it's not in the plans anytime soon something that could be done with little dev time. At the very least, I create this thread, with my suggestion, maybe some more constructive thoughts can be added, things for the devs to consider when/if they get to a point where they review duel wielding in it's current form. Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) Maybe if a stupidly high level swordfighter could block some arrows without using a shield. Another possibility offhand could be some level of collision detection created for formations where people behind a shield user could have some cover from archers in front, depending on the angles. ie Roman turtle, shield walls, etc. Edited March 14, 2017 by Klaa
