Selection Bar Upgrades

The selection bar is wonderful and it has been a very helpful addition.

 

It can be better, and here's how:

 

1. Allow us to customize what goes on the bar and in what order depending on the item we have active (IE: A sickle on a tree tile is a different set of actions from a hatchet on a tree tile. I should be able to remove the chop action from the bar when I have the sickle active.).

(I realize we can already bind selection bar buttons to keys, and this is definitely a step in the right direction!)

 

2. Allow the selection bar/buttons to function on tiles and objects without having to left click them first. Hovering should be enough.

 

3. Allow the selection bar/buttons to function on items on the inventory.

 

Making these changes will allow for a more intuitive user experience whereby five hotkeys will allow you to interact with almost everything in most situations. In most cases I suspect a default and secondary action will be enough. There will of course be exceptions, and those can be addressed on a case-by-case basis. I will not attempt to enumerate them here.
