Sleeping Creatures

Recommended Posts

Not that kind of world.. if they sleep.. they must have shelter.. which cant be anything immersive in this WO world, except seeking to hide in local cave or create one.. which is only going to create spawner area like in minecraft.. mobs pack in 1 spot..

Downside is mobs outside will be less, and more in the caves.. which only trades 1 issue for another, if you want to kill something in the open - there's nothing, if you want to go mine some ore - well you should have brought your fighting gear.. and some cotton.

While this could be fun for the kill seeking folks.. it creates a wall for new or less geared/skilled/ players, and the opposite with.. you hunt but there's nothing, you're new to the area.. now have fun once you've figured that mobs must be 'sleeping' there's a cave close by.. but where the heck is it.. <benny hill music and some seeking>

So, trade 1 "issue" for 2 new issues?

Breathing.. etc animations.. maybe... MAYBE... model/animation update, ai as long it fits the fighting limitations.. plenty could be done, but not all fits the existing mechanics and limitations.

As long client isn't freaking out by hundreds of simultaneous animations... sure, but else.. we could use some improvement to not lag players at the cost of looking at some "breathing" animation..

The spiders we have in game ( other than the fog spiders ) have larger, thicker legs, which indicates that they're more of a hunting spider, like a tarantula so they would not make webs.
