Posted November 5, 2016 I'm probably doing something wrong myself (unless it's some wonky bug). Different monitor, so I changed the size of the customwindow I use for all my alts. Every time I log one in for the first time after that I have to put all the pieces of the UI where I want them - okay, that's logical. The illogical part though: this sticks quite well with some of my alts, logging in after that keeps the window the way I made it - but other alts (majority) come to the scrambled window like it was first time every single time, so have to first set up the window again every single time. Quite irritating, and I have no idea what the difference could possibly be between those who keep the UI-parts where I put them, and those that return on new log-ins to completely scrambled UI (like it was first time) every single log-in again. Anyone have any idea's about requirements which I am missing for keeping this stable through different log-ins ? Only thing I can think of so far is, maybe you need to be in game half an hour or something before it 'sticks'? What am I missing, or is it indeed a wonky bug? Thanks for any idea's. Posted November 6, 2016 Sounds like you login with one window size and logs out with a different. Wurm save the positions in a file for each resolution so if you resize to a different than you load it appears like it not saved. Decide for a resolution (window size) in setting before you login and without resize change positions and size then log out. then all are saved.
Posted November 6, 2016 I changed the size (and name) of a custom-window once, and saved that as new config with a new config-name. From there, when logging in any character, I chose that once-made config as the standard start-up for that character. So I don't change size of any custom-window each time I start a new character, that's exactly why I am so confused by most of them (but not all!) losing their settings every time they start new (on the same settings as before - after seeing this I did check at every new start-up to see if they still pointed to the same config I had chosen before). Thanks for thinking along though, what you describe would indeed lead to this losing of ui-setup, agree. Just that isn't what is happening... <scratches head>
Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) It not the config profile. In player folder a file is saved for each resolution similar to this: windows_1280x1024.txt From console log: Loading props file /home/USERNAME/wurm/players/Sandyar/windows_1280x1024.txt Console log after resize: Saving props file /home/USERNAME/wurm/players/Sandyar/windows_1306x1024.txt If you then resize window after client loaded it saved into a different file but next time other is loaded. Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) In my settings: Custom timer source: Player Folder Keybindings Source: Profile Folder Autorun Source: Profile Folder Exec Source: Profile Folder In my console (one of the players that keeps losing where Ui-parts are): Loading config N_Verylow-Sound-1920x1045 Loading props file G:\_Online\Wurm\Wurm-game\configs\N_Verylow-Sound-1920x1045\gamesettings.txt JNLPClassLoader: Finding library lwjgl64.dll Executing G:\_Online\Wurm\Wurm-game\configs\N_Verylow-Sound-1920x1045\keybindings.txt I thought that meant, that window this player uses would be taken from there, from config. I'm going to experiment some more, I don't really understand completely what you are saying but you did give me a clue where to look, hope I get it sorted and thanks!
