Cant launch game anymore

Recommended Posts

Ok.....

so i moved to the semi country. I can only play wurm over tethering my phone over my laptop and desktop. Wurm works on the desktop, but not my laptop. I have done nothing but add ITUNES. So i can not for the life of me figure it out. I have uninstalled java...reinstalled java.... clicked play from the home page., saved the link and still it wont launch now. I have windows 8.1 64bit .. as far as i know I have installed 64bit java. I know wurm is a 32 bit setup, and it worked fine before now. The game gives me an error saying failure to launch. So can I uninstall the game,?, and save my game settings? , and add the file to " ...." what folder? Anyway this is all posted from my phone. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Go to your Library of games in steam, rightclick Wurm Unlimited and select Properties. In the Local Files tab - click "Verify integrity of game cache".

So you have been able to play Wurm on the laptop before? Sometimes the baked-in graphics can have issues, and updating drivers helps. Intel gfx chipsets are particularly notorious for this.

Other possibilities might be the client trying to launch in 32bit java, which is not going to work well.

Also it can help to see your console.<character name>.log file, which can be found in whatever folder you crammed Wurm into. EDIT: Granted I have no idea if the WU client even has this log file. Might even be in a different location... just for giggles.

Can be quite large, so recommend pasting it into spoiler tags (the "eye" on the editor bar).
