Let us Equip Unicorns with Silver/Gold Horseshoes

Recommended Posts

+1 to both suggestions. I don't care if silver\gold are softer metals .. Its more of a hey look at me statement and that's what wurm has always been about... Give people the option make the wear and tear much greater this way of people want it for looks they can have it.

+1. Not that I ever see unis on Xanadu, or ever plan on taming one, but they should be hitchable as well. Someone needs to ride a rare, purple unicorn cart around.

Absolutely.  I would love a supreme, pink unicorn cart with rainbow streamers and feather decorations!

+1 for unicorns to be equipped.

+1 for unicorns to be hitchable.

Just rode unicorn with both rider and passenger and the speed dropped to half! So apparently being able to carry a passenger isnt that great for unicorn. It became so slow that it was way faster to walk.

If that is not an advantage either, why cant we put equipments on unicorns? you cant hitch them, you cant have passengers without losing half of your speed (no, passenger didnt carry much weight), you cant ride them or lead them without taming/charming them, you risk getting them killed while riding them since all agressive creatures want to take a bite at the tamed weak creature, you cant groom them, they are not as easy to find as horses/hell horses, they take much more bc to ride one than a regular horse

They are more of a majestic creature instead of a literal work horse.

Unicorns should really have a useability far closer in usefulness to hell horses imo. It's always just been a joke that they're ridable at all considering how slow riding them is and no gear working.

Ive always felt the same way, was a bit irked when Hell horses came along and there would be no change to Unicorns...

I just want to look fab. going into battle, is that too much to ask?

Just make them similar to hellhorses with some basic differences for variety and balance, it can't be all that hard o.O

Wow... Fairyshine you are making me want to have this more than ever...

And I agree Nadroj, I don't think it would be too hard to add a bit more things that Unicorns are capable of...

+1 to fancy horseshoes and hitching them.

"Why would anyone want to ride a unicorn!?"

I'll give you a logistics reason:  girls.   Girls love unicorns, and while Wurm is not a dating sim, if you ride to a lass's deed on some business and you know it can be hard to pry her from her forge..... RIDE OVER IN A UNICORN, she'll be pried in seconds.  Yarr!

Who could possibly resist your glorious visage appearing on such a noble steed that farts rainbows?

And you can just ride your glorious unicorn impaling your enemies left and right, without lifting a hand. That pointy and long horn is there for a reason

Heh, I guess there are some pointy-horse fanciers among the dev team, then.  Pity there's no way to show off having golden shoes on regular horses, tho - pimp ma ride!

Neat. Trying to understand why a person who specialises in jewelery would suddenly know how to make good horseshoes though o.O

If we were to break up Wurm skills sensibly, we'd have separate skills for what you were crafting (armor, weapons, general gear, jewelry, etc.) and the material you were using (iron, gold, wood, etc.) and use both as the primary skills for a task. Instead we have a weird mish-mash of material and task in the same skill.
