A domesticated bee hive

Hi Everyone!
We've had a few more hotfixes this week to address some unfortunate combat problems, although we're fairly certain the exploits have been removed and should be smooth sailing from now on. If you encounter any issues or exploits please be sure to report them to the GM team by pming a GM on the forum, or emailing gamemods(at)wurmonline.com

Patch Notes

Wurm Online

Spoiler

Hotfix 19/SEPT/16

  • Bugfix: Fixed invincible characters with under 19.5 body strength in PvP circumstances.
  • Bugfix: Corrected issue of NaN damage showing in wounds.
  • Bugfix: Destroying unfinished fence plans now takes 30 seconds. (unusually high damage still occurs to the tool, so please be aware.)

Wurm Unlimited

  • Plain white cloth sleeves
  • green cloth tunic
  • red cloth tunic
  • black belted vest
  • Black cloth sleeves
  • green cloth sleeve
  • red cloth sleeve
  • brown striped breeches

Changes and additions

  • Small copper braziers can be planted and turned now.
  • Candelabras can be planted.
  • Hauling stuff up/down is now affected by deed speed bonus for item movement actions.
  • Pillars can be rotated.
  • The capital deed of a kingdom can no longer convert to another PMK until it is no longer the capital.
  • Attempting to convert someone to your kingdom will now give error messages if it fails
  • Corrected an issue with off deed gates not being lockable.
  • Source crystal drop rate from cave walls was increased.
  • Permissions change: Attaching a lock to an on deed gate used to automatically give citizens of that deed May Pass permission, even of the deed role did not allow citizens to pass gates. It will now only give the person placing the lock permission to pass, and sets the controlled by deed flag.
  • If you restrict access to gates to citizens, please check individual gates to ensure the correct permissions are set.

Bugfixes

  • Bugfix: You can no longer lock an unlocked gate for which you have no permissions.
  • Bugfix: You should now be able to become champ of a WL deity if it favours your kingdom, correcting issues that stopped it before.
  • Bugfix: Fix to cap affinities properly at 5.
  • Bugfix: Mayors (or those with pick up planted permission) can now pick up planted lamps on bridges on their deed.
  • Bugfix: Village invite via the right click method is no longer blocked if inviter is standing in another village.
  • Bugfix: Corrected new clothing having too high of a creation quality.
  • Bugfix: Text fix when creating new unfinished items, no more extra space and capital U.

  • Bugfix: Corrected some syntax causing frozen items to be deleted crossing servers.

WU Update

Version 1.1.1.2 of Wurm Unlimited went live this week, with the new clothing and other updates coming in! We aim to have the new beta up by next week, with the PvP, combat, and other changes in that for modders and admins to make sure everything works.

Cooking!
The time comes closer to public testing of the new cooking system, with our devs and several volunteers working hard to ensure that it hits the public test server as soon as possible! This weeks peek is at the recipes, and ways to share them.

Players who create a meal, can write down that recipe on papyrus using a reed pen filled with ink or dye, and then they are able to trade, mail or sell the recipe card, and allow other players to use them to learn new recipes.

Rumour has it that certain humanoid creatures in the wild also have their own unique recipes, ones that cannot be cooked without knowing how to make them...

Food storage
Another common question about the cooking update is about decaying of meals! Certain items such as sandwiches and chocolate (!) will be able to be wrapped, which will greatly reduce decay on those items. Meals cooked with salt will also have reduced decay, though these will not stack.

There will also be a storage option to greatly reduce decay of items that cannot be stored in a storage bin, with something special involved too, but more on that in another weeks news!

What secret does the larder contain? how does it stay so cool?

Another big storage option will be the ability to store liquids without decay! Sealing a liquid container with beeswax and cloth will prevent all decay on various containers, including amphorae and pottery jars. Wine barrels will also be able to be sealed, but will use a different method.

Community Content
This week forum user goldgretel has been sharing some amazing shots from their adventures in Wurm, I couldn't go past this amazing one of a castle by a lake!

That's it for this week, there's still plenty more to share about the cooking update, and hopefully we'll have all the information ready by the time it lands on the public testing server I hope you all have a great week, and keep on wurming!

Very interesting- a bee hive. Are we heading to honey and mead?

Thank you for the update.

Thank you for the update.

I believe mead has already been confirmed.

Being able to seal up clay containers for long-term storage of liquids will be nice, especially for things like maple syrup.

If you heard anything about Epic being reset, or removed, or merged with anything else, those were just stupid rumors.

Looks very much like stills in the building behind the beehive. We'll need our hell carts to outrun the revenuers.

Yep, there's a more close-up picture of one in a previous news thread.

So many questions about cooking, so little time! As the mayor hurries about the deed with fellow villages preparing the new cookhouse and brewery builds for the new updates.

Is there going to be ice? Are cakes real? Pies...oh i'd still like peach trees, she wonders aloud, the Gods only know! she mutters going about her business.

Chocolate?  Are we getting cocoa trees too?

I'm making so much hot chocolate.

Or, as I like to call it when it's cold instead of hot, "special drink".

Nice new additions coming as seen here. Hopefully they won't involve so much work as to make them less desirable to use. Will just have to wait and see but the potential for nice benefits seems within yet to be revealed. Fantastic shot of that castle at waters edge too!
