The primary reason people dont "get away" (or get away very slowly) nowdays is web armor (which is rather "oddly" coded and incredibly powerfull... if ya read the code you would know what i mean) or stunlocking for eternity. Stunlocking for eternity is getting adressed already by devs with the stun resistances incomming. As for web armor I've looked into most details but had some issues fully grasping the movement code and thus wait for a responce from a dev looking it up. And lastly, we got shields for a reason. (I mean, aside from perma-stunning, etc; obviously the general mechanic of special moves could use some work.) Zeke's suggestions here make PvP more interactive, but why take away content that's already in game? Does it really over-complicate things enough to justify removing them? What is the point of having that big ass tower shield, if people can pass thru it? Maybe some more special stances(Not special moves) For example. With pike you could be able to "Pike phalanx", well basicly hold the pike down? And how about being able to decide what you do with that longsword? Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) A wild idea here: What about Mount&Blade style combat system in Wurm? Of course, it's never going to be here, just what do you think about it? It's simply too diffrent from wurm. introducing collisions, twitch based combat and reworking the combat system to that degree would be a too big task, might aswell launch a new game. Not to mention the servers would need an upgrade. It's been suggested many times in the past, but feel free to make a new suggestion thread for it. I agree that special moves in their current form are dumb. But based on gaming experience from various games I'd say the ability to make special attacks can add a lot of depth to combat.
