Posted August 13, 2016 Noticed that this page on altars and domains is no longer accurate: http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Wooden_altar This section here: "If you feel the presence of any god other than the one you follow, you cannot start or continue an stone or wooden altar dedicated to your god. Only stone or wooden altars dedicated to the god of their respective domain can be started or continued within that domain. Gold altar and Silver altar need to be blessed after creation and can thus be built in opposing domains." Thank-you kindly!
Posted August 13, 2016 @Anthrage What is the issue with that statement? As far as I know nothing has changed with how altars are created.

Posted August 13, 2016 Yep, I already went through and edited the altar pages (and also did a tiny bit of cleanup on them) after this was mentioned in CA Help yesterday. If I got anything wrong, please let me know!
Posted August 13, 2016 Well than! Thanks @Ostentatio, I always knew you were better at the altar things as you have a priest and mess with those types of things. Haha
Posted November 27, 2017 Altar information and Domain changes from over a year ago are not listed on wiki pages at all. https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/142670-weekly-news-25-tweaks-and-tidbits/ News Announcement with nice image of the domain influence. https://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/142879-patch-notes-30-june-2016/ Actual patch information. Spoiler New Domain system added! Altars will now extend their domain depending on quality. Underground and above ground zones are no longer separate, instead domains will have a 50% reduction in their power in the opposing layer. Metal and wood altars may now be pushed/pulled. Altar creation restrictions were removed. Posted February 20, 2018 The pages to change listed above still have some old, incorrect information about domains. Ex. Altar page says under domain: You can have 1 domain below ground and 1 other above ground without them affecting each other. That is no longer true as see in the hidden contents I listed above: Underground and above ground zones are no longer separate, instead domains will have a 50% reduction in their power in the opposing layer. The religion - domains page seems to indicate that the 'type' of altar makes a difference. This is not true: The distance of influence for a domain depends entirely on the quality and type of altars nearby Quality and above/below ground percent is the only thing that influences the domain range. I still see player confusion about the new domain changes, so every little bit of clarification helps.
Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) I have completely re-worked the altar page on Wurmpedia, to try and get it to make logical sense, and to incorporate the updates referenced above. Two notes: 1) Please review the section on domains to ensure it incorporates the changes correctly, and is sufficiently comprehensive. I have send a PM to Seedlings and asked for help to incorporate the image describing domain interactions from Retrograde's "tweaks and tidbits" post, as it is an excellent visual representation of the mechanic. 2) Please review the last sentence about destroying an altar. Is it true that a mayor can desecrate an altar on-deed and suffer no penalties, even with her own deity? This page is obviously a work in progress, so please don't hesitate to rip apart what I've written and help improve it! Posted February 22, 2018 Thanks to Seedlings, the page has been further updated with Retrograde's excellent visual example. I have asked Seedlings to review and declare the page compliant with Wurmpedia's standards, to take it off the cleanme list.
