Update 2016-06-12 (June 12, 2016)

 

Hello again fellow Wurmians.  It's time again for another update to the Albia Roads Map.  We've added 3 more potential mission locales which you can find in the 2nd post in this topic.  Below are the updates to the map for this week . . .

 

- small change to the roads at the NE corner of Grizzlam Desert

 

Bay Hill Canal / Darkenstone Canal Area
- Added guard towers and the guard calling ranges
- Roads modified around the Bay Hill Canal area
- Mausoleum of Water and Running Charge mission locales added
- Bridge crossing at Darkenstone Canal added

 

Upper Inner Sea - East of Darkenstone Canal
- Bridges added along the upper section of Inner Sea east of Darkenstone Canal
- Geography adjusted to show small lake and canal
- Roads added south of Bay View Highway

 

North East Coast
- Roads modified and added additional sections along the coastline
- peat area mapped
- Guard towers and calling ranges added
- Adjusted geography of the coastline.

 

North East Prairies
- Added roads to the west of the prairies
- Modified n-s road beside the steppe area to reflect upgrades
- Added guard towers and calling ranges to the west of the prairies
- Added a tar patch west of the prairies

 

Colossus Lake Highway
- Added a small section of roads north of the west end of the highway
- Added secluded guard towers discovered "in the bush"

 

Black Dog Island
- Added Fist of Seafarer mission locale
- Added the calling range indicators for the guard towers

- Added the Island's name

 

Adjoining Server direction indicators
- Added indicators for the East and West side of Indy, with a warning for the west side arrows that Chaos is a PvP server.

 

Finally removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted by Mayoral requests posted to the Indy Community Map forum.

Update 2016-06-26 (June 26, 2016)

Greetings folks!  Another 2 weeks has passed and we have another set of updates for the Roads Map.

 

West Central Area

- Updated roads
- Corrected geography
- Added a guard tower and calling range indicator

 

North West of Kinoss Bay

- Minor updating of the roads
- Added a guard tower and calling range indicator

 

Peninsula West of Freedom Market (aka Halcyon Peninsula)

- completed road mapping in this area
- corrected the geography
- mapped the clay patches in the area
- updated and added guard tower locations
- added calling range indicators for guard towers

 

Removed disbanded deeds and added deeds as per requests in the forums

And the final update for this week will be this "Add to Map Request" received via one of our volunteer Surveyors who was doing prep work for an update survey in Mist Lake area.

 

She put me in touch with the Mayor of The White Sands at 59x by 27y who has requested they be added.

- Mapped a new desert area and adjusted the existing

- Updated the roads
- Added an area of steppe
- Added calling range indicators for two guard towers in the area

- Added the new canal (under construction) that will connect the Western Sea with the Inner Sea (via Whisper Lake and Stony Lake)

- Added (possible) mission locale Strength Rules (spirit gate)

Made and added the symbol for the Mission Objective called a "Pylon" to the Legend.

Finally removed disbanded deeds and added those submitted by Mayoral requests posted to the old Indy Comm Map forum (closed and lock on July 5th, 2016) and the Albia Roads Map of Indy forum.

Could I please have Barony of Bones added to the map @ 12/Rish, dead centers of the Sandy Sea. Every one that lives there calls it the Sandy Sea btw, not sure if things like that are added.

Gud'afternoon Kelody,    July 21th, 2016

 

We did discuss this and test it awhile ago.

 

It turned out to they were not workable without a secondary set of grid lines, which turned out to be really messy.

 

So as the current grid system has been in use since the original community map was conceived, we shall stick with it.

 

Given how clutter the current map is, we have to say Sorry and decline this suggestion.

Thanks for the information on the name of you rlocal  desert and yes, we like to add the names of local areas to the map where ever possible.  This information and your deed will appear in the next map update.

Awesome Map! 
Now I can do horse rides to visit other villages without fear get lost.
When have a new update, I would like see my village on the map. Its located on 35y 14x and called Altal Coast (you probably already know where is) but i am just remember.
Continue always the good job of Albia Roads.

I'd like to hereby put in a request for a name change:

 

Rather than being known as "Inner Sea", "North Inner Sea", or "North-East Inner Sea", I'd request that the south and western parts be known as "Tigger River", and the north and eastern parts be known as "Eeyore River"

Feel free to remap the size of the island over time as it's growing every day; to include the new bridge between Holmestrand and Newbie Island; and to include the newly placed (currently underwater, but not for long) land-bridge and eventual bridge(s) heading south.

 

You may even place my deed on the map. If the size of the island isn't up to snuff to warrant a name change, please offer up some parameters, so I know what to work towards.

We have discussed your suggestion but rivers tend to be much smaller bodies of water (to our way of thinking), something like the one to your east that leads to Sevens Bay, or Oak River on the east coast ( 62x, 47y-49y) however, if you want to give those areas names using Bay, Cove, Sound (for example: Tigger Bay - west part, Eeyore Cove - North part and maybe Piglet Sound - for the south area or whatever you choose) that would work very well.  Also, if you can, make sure your neighbours are okay with the new names; we don't want to have any arguments over place names :unsure:

 

Your deeds will be added with the next update and when we can get over that way we'll add in new bridges and any other changes we find.

PS you might want to get a current version of the Indy map :rolleyes:

 

 

 

 

To date, the only people living in along the shoreline in the region is myself, Niki, Williamwierd, Berris and Sorrow. All of whom I'll ask about what they think in the future.

 

As for the difference between cove, and river - perhaps I jumped the gun a bit soon, but expect things to change in the future.

 

Regarding other deeds: Hillside, Busan, Angel's Coast, Pickle Island, The Lone Wolf, Seven's Bay and Withimund are all either inactive, abandoned or lone gone. Miniroll only logs on maybe once every six months to build something for two weeks before going entirely inactive. For the most part, the name change is for simplicity's sake. It's tiring having to tell people North Inner Sea, only to have them get lost around Blackdog.

In the Hidden Part below is a list of the Mission Ritual Locations that were added to the Albia Roads Map of Indy in response to a suggestion from Zorako with the release of Albia Roads Map of Indy Update of May 29th, 2016.

 

To add a Shrine, Obelisk, Pillar, Pylon, Temple or Gate you discover in your travels....

 

Please post to this forum its Name (as seen on mouse over), it's Albia Map X - Y location and what type it is.  IF you can please grab a screenie from our map of a 5x5 grid around what you have found, using a Paint program mark an "X" where you found it.  Then please insert that image into your forum message as it would really help us to place it properly on the map.

 

A special thanks "AnotherNoob" for his assistance in helping us to get the improvement up and running.  He provided us with an initial 11 locations of the where some of these can be found.

..... and we have finalized tomorrow's Update of the Albia Roads Map of Indy.

 

Any geography changes and deed addition requests time stamped AFTER 00:01 UTC (GMT) on Sunday August 21, 2016 will be added in our next update.
