Posted April 14, 2016 I made a water tunnel entrance by tunneling in . Mined several other tiles in the water. Cave floors in the water are all flat except for the entrance tile. Had priest collapse the entrance, Tried mined the entrance tile wall from inside the mine and I get the error that the water is too deep. Was hoping to achieve a level floor on the entrance. Luckily this was just a test and not a real canal entrance.
Posted April 14, 2016 Achieving the level floor at the entrance is really hard, u have to be lucky. most just use concrete to raise it up.. as for the "water is to deep" error, this happens if the NW corner is 19 (I think) or more below water level. i tried looking for a thread i did on the same subject but i cant find it.. Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) only way to fix this is to collapse your mine entrance, then mine from the inside out which is what you did as I reread the post may have to collapse the tile next to the entrance, or is that already done? seems odd you can't do this and I have no idea what to do next, other than raise the floor a bit with concrete and try mining out again Edited April 14, 2016 by JakeRivers
Posted April 14, 2016 What happens is if you tunnel in on a tile that has the bottom edge in the water the tunneling will produce a sloped down entrance the bottom of which is too deep . you cant mine in deep water and you cant raise floor with concrete because the concrete would wash away. Several old canal entrances are like this so bug has been around a long time. Concrete should be usable at a deeper depth of water than you can mine . Tunneling should not go deeper than you can mine.
