I'm getting around 60fps, with drops into the 40's in large deeds with lots of animals. I know this isn't a beast of a rig but for what I have invested in it it's getting the job done.

Processor:  AMD FX8350  4.4Ghz

RAM:          16Gb HyperX 1866Mhz

GPU:           Inno3d iChill GTX1060

Cooler:        £30, honestly forgotton its name. researched before purchase.

PSU:           Corsair 600w

Mobo:          Asus Sabertooth 990FX rev1 (TUF)

Monitor:       49" 4K LG (49uf6750 (a 7600 without wifi or smartO/S)) low latency UHD tv
HMD:           Oculus Rift & Go

Case:           Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 (steel)

SSD:            Sandisk 120GB

HDD:            WD Green 1TB

Peripherals: Trust KB and Element gaming Mouse

The case has a cable solution under the motherboard plate, since installing into it, my temps have dropped to near unbelievable lows.
airflow seems to be far more important than an expensive fan.
The above system is very power efficient. (i run an onboot script to make sure power options are set to balanced)
C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe -setactive 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e
-------------------------------------------------------
edit: appended from new post / gfx and cpu;
the upgrade from 750ti to gtx1060 yielded a more high powered device..
compared to 750, the 1060 requires 50% more wattage for a 300% performance increase.
the increase in wattage is merely a potential of use. the 1060gtx will save money over a 750ti.
(when the horses are bigger you need fewer of them)

Most important to mention.. WO seems VERY cpu reliant.
upgrading the gfx made little difference, upgrading the Phenom to an FX. doubled framerates, this was not due to a previous bottleneck.
on the plus side, wurm uses all 8 cores.

CPU: i7-4820k

RAM: 24gb various (once i slap in a new stick to get it up to 32gb i guess i can check brands)

GPU: 970 GTX

Mobo: Sabertooth X79

Monitor: 2x  ASUS VG248QE (Only one in 144hz though.)

As for space, currently running a Kingston 120gb SSD, a 1TB HDD, and a 3TB HDD.

Headphones/Mic: Audio Technica ATHAD700X w/ modmic in the next few days, although currently using an old ass pair of sennheisers

Keyboard: Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate (literally only picked the Ultimate variant because it was on sale when the Professional one wasn't. Downright the best keyboard I have ever owned though.)

Mouse/Mousepad: Logitech g303 and QCK+

As per Wurm performance, I wouldn't know. I haven't played in quite a while.

Processor: Intel i5 4670K EDIT: Overclocked to 4.2Ghz

RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengence 1866mhz

GPU: EVGA GTX 770 Superclocked 4GB

Cooler: Corsair H80i

PS: Corsaid 750M modular power supply (really nice highly recommend any modular ######)

Mobo: Gigabyte MB (I do not remember much but really did not spend much on the Motherboard

Monitor: BenQ 1920x1080p 60Ghz Monitor (old official MLG one)

Audio: Plantronics Gamescom Commander Headset (this is a bad ass puppy, once again old MLG official product they stopped making them tho)

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Windowed, ###### is simple like I like it

SSD: Samsung 128GB 840 Pro ( I have a new 850 256GB samsung drive sitting in a box but too lazy to put it in)

HDD: WD Blue Caviar 1TB

Peripherals: Corsair mechanical keyboard, razer mouse (forgot name)

Networking: Some shitty wifi card that I use but constantly have to restart

Performance: Runs wurm pretty well, 60FPS unless I enter a massive city/high graphic requirement area (lots of charcoal piles) then it drops to like 20-30FPS.

I run almost every game in max details the exception being Fallout 4 which wants to run at lower specs but I Could run it at a higher setting.

Monitor is okay but you should focus on anything over that 60Hrz refresh rate

bump.

following an investment. (loan)
I've added an observational edit, 3 posts above this one, worth reading if you consider your graphics card to be more important than your CPU for WO/WU.
w.o. ..  is extremely dependent upon the generation of your CPU.
a 1st generation maxwell (gfx chipset) upgraded to a GP106 (2016 vr ready) makes little difference. (300% elsewhere)
however, upgrading a 5 yr old cpu (phenom 4 core @ 4ghz) to a 4 yr old cpu (fx8*) doubles the framerates.
Intel ignore, if you have an i7, i suspect that you are gleefully oblivious.
;)

Thanks for update and observations, that's really helpful.  I have a 960 w/ an i-4170 dual-core (4 threads or w/e).  I'm thinking about upgrading to an i-5 b/c of this.

Build Status: Incomplete(Useable but incomplete)

CPU:   Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz

Ram: Crucial 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

GPU: MSI Aero GTX 1080

HDD/SSD:

2794GB Seagate ST3000DM001-1ER166 (SATA)
111GB KINGSTON SV300S37A120G (SSD)

Mobo: ASUSTek Z170-A LGA1151

OS: Win8.1 Pro(to lazy to bother upgrading right now)

Build $: About 2,300$ CAD/Or in other words, 1,750$ USD

Performance: 60fps on everything on maximum settings. No Exemptions!

Things to do:

-Change cases(This one is small and cluttered)

-Swap out small SSD with a bigger 500gb or more SSD

-Buy 32GB More of RAM(Limited to only 26 wurm clients open at one time, I NEED MOAR)

-Eventually buy a 2nd GPU for another monitor

-Buy a new monitor

-Buy a new secondary monitor

-Buy a desk/chair(Lazin-around on my bed right now)

-Get a better cooling set up going as the GTX 1080 just loves hitting 82C before it activates its fan for whatever reason.

-Maybe: Overclock the CPU, maybe

Edit: Oh forgot to mention, Custom built, Didn't buy pre-built/assembled, And will continue to do so as i continue to upgrade it ^^
