Beverages -> potions

Recommended Posts

Beverages don't have much use at the moment. Maybe if we could mix different beverages with herbs we could make useful potions. Would be fun the discover the new recipes and give us reason to gather apples, cherries etc...

What do you think?

I agree, a potions mod would be awesome. would give flask more purpose. There are already plenty of ingredients that one could combine, animal parts, herbs foraged and botanized, crops, and fluids.

Some effects could be-

temporary characteristic gain (strength, mind, soul)

temporary skill gain

instant heals

higher regeneration for a pierod

temporary learning boost (like sleep bonus)

speed boost (movement and action timer)

swimming and climbing boosts

Plant growth (used on a tree tile or crop to advance growth stage)

paralysis (thrown at mob)

poison (the result of a failed attempt maybe?)

Some more ideas:

Potion to change your characters gender/appearance

Battle potions that boost FS but lower defense significantly

Potions that make you lose less of your hunger bar for a time but after their effect runs out give you a temporary debuff which increases the need for food/water

Throwable poison that prevents healing

Potion that grants greater accuracy

Potion that increases carrying capacity

I love this, especially if anyone with Alchemy skill could make them (rather than needing to be a priest).  Or maybe combine the two: first you need to use your Beverages skill to make juice or wine, then use your Alchemy skill to turn that juice/wine into a Potion.

Potion QL capped by the juice/wine QL

Chance of creation determined by Alchemy skill

+1 Sounds awesome, as long as there is some sort of config to choose which potions to enable. :D
