This is kind of a handy little tool for a no fuss map maker tool. To the point that you got me to thinking how nice it might be to drop this thing in a folder and have it generate maps at its directory level and create the data bases.

So basically a way to quickly make a ready to play map with a single seed entry and push of a button. Sort of dare I say mine crafty way to get a unique map ready to play on.

This then made me think about it randomly placing source springs and or source wells and perhaps even various items scattered around. So almost like a randomly generated adventure map.

BTW: This is maybe not exactly important but I noticed after this is done generating a map the files are not closed. You have to close the java applet to release the files so that for example you can look at the map with an image viewer.

This is really great!

My main suggestion would be making a drop down for map sizes. Not all of us are great with the power of two. :D

if you take 1024 and times it so 1024 x2 = 2048 is the 2x2 map 1024 x4 = 4096 which is the 4x4 map and so on.

Yes. But, it would be easier, and less of a margin for error, to have a drop down.

You may recall the part where it was a "suggestion", not a "request". I also wasn't exactly expressing this for myself, there are a lot of people from all different walks of life that use this software, and these forums. I was simply making a suggestion that would accommodate a larger number of users.

Jonneh,

Have you considered making this a complete map folder generator complete with a clean database set?

i have a suggestion for the generator...

could you make some options for what kind of generated landmass we get?

like a single landmass one or how many islands, maybe even one big center island with several smaller islands?
