[RELEASED] Moon Metal Mining and Home Server Mining

Mod which allows server admins to remove the 50 ore cap on glimmersteel and adamantite veins, and also adds an option to give random moon metal drops like gems. Also allows server admins to remove the quality cap for all veins on home servers.

 

Note: The ore caps changed in this mod only apply to glimmersteel and adamantite, not the general caps on veins and if you set a vein to 65355 it will still reroll with a max of 10000 even if it is adamantite or glimmer.

Credit to AbsolutelyNobody for the random drops idea and his original mod.

Do you think you could make the cap modifiable? Maybe 0 is no cap, but any other number is taken as is?


 


veinCap=50 #50 is default (50 actions), 0 is Unlimited, Any other number is used to set the cap on mining actions.

Added,  thanks for the suggestion, shame there is no seryll ore (and untill there is an item id system for mods I will not add any custom items)

I'm loving the mod so far, especially the customisable drop chances.

 

How difficult would it be to make gem drop odds customisable in the same way?

This is also something I am interested in, I am wanting to make priests a more fast paced game play type and increasing the odds of gems dropping would help a lot! Any ideas?

fyi, It was my idea for the item drop chance.  AbsolutelyNobody made the mod. Still love this mod :)

I am considering using this mod, however I am confused by some of the settings.

 

What does newVeinCap=10000 correlate to? I would like it so you can find any quality from 1 - 100.

Leaving randomMoonMetalDrops=true will randomly select what ore you receive correct?

 

This mentions veins, but really it just gives you drops of ore like gems do correct?

Does this mod spawn Glimmersteel and adamantite? my map had no Glimmersteel and adamantite when I made it, now im finding adamantite with 8988 hits.... I dont want these ores in my server as we have HOTA and this makes HOTA pointless... but I still want the random drops :(

As far as I can tell this doesn't create Glimmer or Adam veins. The following setting should make the impact these veins have on game play be insignificant ( don't think 0 is a good idea):

 

changeVeinCap=true
newVeinCap=1
