Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Since I finnished my Guard tower on the Sklotopolis server (WU) I keep on crashing to my desktop when I hover over certain tiles near that tower. The client simply stops working and I get this error from the Nvidia OpenGL Driver:A TDR has been detected. The application must close.Error code:7Would you like to...etc. After visiting the Nvidia site for help it suggests a few things:1. Reduce the graphics workload if possible, such as rendering to a lower resolution or with less detail.2. Increase the timeout to allow more time to complete the really tough rendering parts. Microsoft provides the information on how to modify the Windows Registry to achieve this. I did the first thing and a little beyond that. Installed the latest drivers for my GPU and made a support ticket for my problem.The GM is willing to destroy and respawn my tower if needed but would that fix my problem? I don't know yet. Is there anything else I could do? Because I'm quite certain the problem started as soon as my Guard tower was finnished.I have another villager on my deed who was the first one to crash with the same error as I am getting now. If I had a crash log I would post it like suggested but I can't find any. Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) If you are a little bit nervous about making registry changes on timeout, Microsoft has a "We'll Do It For You" button where you click and its done automatically in Windows7/Vista:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2665946#bookmark-fixitformealwaysRemoves all the Fear Factor Another thing you can try is to verify your pack files in case you have a cirrupted texture (I have not yet checked if the STEAM launcher has a button for that, it might redownoad a fresh copy if you rename the graohics.jar to TESTgraphics.jar Is there a chance your server has any custom guardtower graphics? I tested renaming the graphics.jar which is located at \steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher\packs, but it simply crashed and for unknown reasons also took out my renamed file, hmm that was really odd, usually it will just ignore "extra files" in the foilder, so I wouldn't try that until I figure a goofproof way to redownload the graphics.jar (luckily I had multiple backups of that file; I have no idea why it would delete the recently renamed one) Edited November 16, 2015 by Brash_Endeavors Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) I have to ask around about those custom guardtower graphics. you could also check whether identical looking guard towers cause you to crash if it is only that ONE guard tower, and it also makes another villager crash too, then it might be worth having a GM delete it and recreate it You might try the Compatibilty tab in the Wurm settings if you haven't already. Posted November 16, 2015 Is there a chance your server has any custom guardtower graphics? I'm pretty positive we do not. Lucky for me my friend was playing on his account and answered the GM (my friend has the same problem as me).The GM respawned our tower, raised and lowered the ground in front it but to no effect. Posted November 18, 2015 To be short, our problem seems to be resolved.A very nice GM relocated our tower, still crashing. After that he placed another type of tower on the old spot and so far no more crashes for both of us.
