[Released] Ship Woodtypes Mod

Recommended Posts

I know there have been many complains about this, so I figured I'll fix it.

Now the colors might not be a perfect match but at least we got some variety.

Keep in mind that this will be a large file, it has 60 textures in it.

ShipWoodTypes 1.1.0

You will need Ago's server and client modloader

Take the shipwoodtypespack.jar and drop it into the mods/serverpacks folder.
Next open the serverpacks.properties file and add "serverPacks=shipwoodtypespack.jar"
If you already have serverPacks=name.jar just add it to the end like this serverPacks=name.jar,shipwoodtypespack.jar

Enjoy

So is this just a texture mod?  Does the woodtype affect the boat like it used to and like it does for other things?

Previously you said only sailboats were completed, just confirming this is a full release with all boats and wood types now? Thank you for the excellent work by the way. Would be great to see some of these things picked back up in WO as well. Thanks.

Any plans to make something similar with bringing wood types back to bsb/fsb/chest etc?

Was thinking about it, but not sure where to stop. you could do this to anything made from wood including weapons and tools

This... is great.

You have great mod ideas. Find a buddy to convert your mods to Ago's loader!

Im working with Aso to get one other mod converted to the loader.  Once i have a copy of his example i'll be able to convert several of these mods into the loader.   This one is on my list.

Tried your mod. I follow the instruction you gives but it didn't work at first. Then I added manually the folder with the textures in the graphics.jar file and added what's in the mappings.txt to the mappings.txt in the graphics.jar and it works fine now. I still get the same error though but at least it works.

*Edit* The error comes from the mod loader. The chat tab that opens when you start the client.

hmm, yeah must be something with how your modloader is set up. on mine it pushed the textures through from the server.

check if your shipwoodtypespack.jar is named right.
I just noticed it said shipwoodtypes.jar in my instructions.

probably not it but something to try.

Also check in your packs folder on your client side if you have a pack that is named something like this: 051F4B05E53543C7A3C2858583BF5860A04229DF

it should be 262mb

No, that wasn't it. The name was correct.

I have no such pack in the client packs folder.

There got to be something wrong with how you got your client modloader set up.

Only other thing server side I can think of is that your serverpacks mod isn't enabled. But you probably did that already

Maybe, I'll look into that. I followed the modloader instructions to the letter though.

Oh and make sure you start the server with modlauncher.bat

Hmmm... I run the patcher that generate an executable. I replaced the original exe with the one generated. Is that okay?

I think it is, but I never used it that way. I didn't even use the patcher at all, just the modlauncher.bat

Finally got my shipyard up and running, added this mod to the server and it's fantastic to once again have the different boat colours based on wood type again.

Thanks for doing this mod!

New wood types look great except for willow sailing boats.

Spoiler

Fixed: edited the .png name to "sailing_ship_willow.png" inside the .jar file and got it to work correctly. Original file name was "sailing_ship_willowwood.png"
