Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) Hello there! I am long-time lurker of this game and been playing on and off since 2006 but mostly been lurking the forums and the news since 2011. I am a big fan of this game and with the release of Unlimited i think it is time for me to give something back to this community. Why do i want to do this? Well i am bit special in that regard. I tend to enjoy "running things". Don't get me wrong i do play games and enjoy them but sometimes i enjoy being on the sidelines as game-master/clan-leader/alliance-leader even more. I don't do that all the time, but the past 10 years i have been a game-master in 2 games and a clan-leader/alliance-leader once and for me those 3 experiences have been truly enjoyable. After reading a few topics here and regularly checking the server-list i feel that there is a void among the servers that i want to fill. The sort of server i would like to play on don't really exist but don't get me wrong, there is quite a few good servers out there but all of them lack something that i would love for them to have so i was like, screw it, I am starting my own community/server. Oh and by the way, some of you might now me as Zep but i wanted to go by my new name so i made a new account. Anyway that's enough about me and why i am doing this. I have already rented a server and started working a bit on a map but nothing is finished. I am 30+ hours in to making a website, forum and of course the map. I have a clear plan ahead for what type of community and server i want. I will rely quite heavily on the website and forums for this community so it is important to me that i make it good. So why i am looking for 1-2 people to help me out?Well i need help. I dont know this game so good anymore, this became quite clear after hanging out in the sklotopolis server topic (Hey Sklo, long time no see ). They are making a lot of changes to the mechanics in game and i am like "whaaat?". The thing is that i have zero experience with priests and farming and other important aspects of this game so this is something i need help with. That is one of many reasons, i also want someone to help even out the workload in the beginning. Of course after while you will get members in your community that you learn to trust and respect and these will also quite naturally help out with the workload in time. For anyone that is still interested i guess you want to know what kind of community i want to make. I actually have quite a good write-up on my website (that is not on the internet yet), so let me copy paste that. Here is my story: I have never played Wurm Online and I purchased Unlimited but I returned it after a couple hours because of two things. 1. I could not for the life of me get my own private server to show up on the LAN (which seems to be an issue a lot of people have) for me to even learn the game. 2. It is overwhelming joining an established server without knowing what to do. While I may not be A LOT of help at the beginning, it would be fun to start on a fresh server to learn the game. I am not looking for players, even though you might be of help to me i need someone with experience in the game.Also you failed to follow my instructions which gives me a reason to believe you did not read my whole post.But feel free to send in a application for joining the server when it is up. Not to derail this tread, but you said " I could not for the life of me get my own private server to show up on the LAN" Did you start/setup the server first then try to start the game? And I assume you did download the Dedicated server from Steam, am I right? I am also gonna assume you also ticked the box for Dedicated Server once you had the Server Screen up (the one which shows the list of servers on it). I have managed to get several running (guess I am one of the lucky ones) with only 1 issue. I made a Dedicated server the day I bought the game so I could experiment and learn the game on. I then tried to setup another only to find out I couldn't so I had to uninstall & reinstall the Game Client and Server thru Steam so I could get rid of what was stopping me from creating a server again. Since then I have had no issues. It really is a very good game and I am very happy that i invested $30 into buying it. You really should give it another shot.
