Wurm Online using a lot of CPU/RAM

Recommended Posts

So My wurm decided to start being a pain and the title bar of the client where it says "Wurm online 'player name" it's flickering and saying (not responding) every second. makeing gameplay extremly annoying and typing is hell.

I asked in CA and somebody mentioned to check the performance of my PC in the performance tab so here it is.

My CPU usage seems to be quite high and this is a brand new PC with very little stuff on it.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?? Would be much appreciated.

-Thanks

(NOTE: This only occurs whilst playing Wurm)

So I closed Wurm to see if my CPU usage went down and it did to around 3-6%. So i started wurm back up and checked in the resource monitor and this is what I found. Why is Wurm using so much CPU usage?

Really need some help here guys, it is very annoying to play. My mouse cursor is repetitively flashing with the blue loading symbol.

It seems to be doing the same thing with Wurm Unlimited.

Ok, here goes:

Latest version of 64-bit Java?

GPU drivers up to date?

Chipset drivers up to date?

Also, what are your cpu temperatures like when trying to run wurm? It's unlikely but if something is wrong with the cooling the processor could be running into its thermal throttling temperature. That would cause severe performance issues and probably would not be great for the longevity of the processor.

Also try turning off Glsl shader support in compatibility settings.

Also try turning off Glsl shader support in compatibility settings.

Tried Disabling GLSL. Along with Vbo and Pbo or whatever they are..

As for Java, yes I thought it was java to begin with. So it is up to date.

Chipset is up to date also.

Everything is up to date.. :/

You got on board or socket graphic card? I noticed that while checking card compatibility in wiki, they was suggesting older Radeon cards (as in last year or so releases).

I run a on board ATI Radeon HD 4200 and the game seems to run fine with it and using the lower graphic settings to comp for having only 4G of ram installed.

I have a socket Graphics card (socket meaning I clipped it onto the motherboard), and it was working fine a few days ago using the card. A friend suggested totally un-installing my Graphics card and reinstalling which I did, still didn't change anything.

So Yashua suggested installing an older Graphics Driver, so I did it has fixed Wurm Online from using a lot of CPU/RAM however Wurm Unlimited is still doing the Flashing and not responding deal... But thats okay I can live without Wurm Unlimited :)

Thanks all!
