Tamriel Online MMORPG server

Recommended Posts

Isn't the goal not to be like ESO where everyone can grind out everything by themselves within a month of being on the server then leaves out of boredom?  If you want a proper MMO economy then long timers are a necessary evil.

Personally to satisfy my Elder Scrolls itch I am going to port the map from my Morrowind game CD.  But I  can get my enjoyment of building all the castles and towns on the island myself in singleplayer with the timers as fast as possible in single player.  Entirely different thing, but that is the point of WU.

ESO is not a sandbox, here we make Tamriel into a sandbox game where you affect the history, make your own path. TES you play a rpg and a story they put infront of you, here you make the story, Full freedom :)

The server will be changed to x4 timer, but the skills will stay x3.

Short timers don't mean faster grinding they just me the tediousness of smashing out 10 rock walls and producing 1000 bricks becomes achievable. The time you have is effectively increased to allow for much larger and grander projects. With a map of this magnitude i could only see increasing the speed of actions (not the skill gain) could only improve the development. For example in 5 hours one could mine out a small mine and create a few hundred bricks or they can create much needed server infrastructure like massive highways between there neighbors.

I'm a pvp at heart and trust me when i tell you, the faster timers will only allow you to rebuild from a war at a pace that is not soul destroying cause it will happen one day. Plus that time most people hate is the beginning of a town or a prject as there is no place to put there ######. That phase would only end sooner, expansions would be the next. You could actually build these epic cities without loosing 90% of your month to a game. Ofc this does mean a slight increase in gear and tools but that just means you have more to sell meaning access for new groups or new villagers are easily equipped without having to slave for 3 hours to make them that 90ql pick.

Bulk weapons could sell to kingdoms in longterm wars for reasonable prices rather than buying a single sword for 3s that took 8 hours to make imp and cast on. Now you can make more medium quaility tools of 70ql and high skill still hold there value for those specialist items.

There is finding the right balance between removing time watching a long ass timer bar and creating gameplay.

As a huge TES fan and someone who can see the merit of slower skillgains when considering longevity of the game I have to say that the RMT is the main thing keeping me away from trying this server.

I agree with you here, this is why we raised it from  x2 timers, to x4 timers.

Exactly. I just don't see how is that a good thing - building settlements, towns should take much time so that it will be a real goal and achievement, not "meh, another day, another town". It should be work for at least weeks.

Guys, don't subject to one man's displeased voice - most of us were pretty happy and that's the reason we kept playing instead of complaining on forum. But you should know as even on VK almost no one wanted higher than x3 rates.

From website: "Map is 8192x 8192km."

So each tile is 1 km x 1 km? :o

Omg no. 8192x8192 tiles, 1 tile = 4 meters . 8192x8192 = 32x32 km

What about silver and upkeep

untill player economy starts booming you need to discover what can you sell to the NPC traders which is time effective to make and sell, after then, youll have to tax your citizens, or open government made shops. upkeep = real life maintainence so if tax & government fundraisers works in real life, it will work here.

So, no one who has silver got it any other way than through in-game mechanics?

corret, we want to make it as sandboxy as possible, but mining silver & processing it into silver coins would make it way too OP for a game, everybody would just do that, so we just have the traders & player economy itself.

pretty soon you will see major cities have their own shops based on the skill of the shop owner. and if currently theres no shop that you think there should be in a certain city, why not open one?

this is the type of economy that we want to create.

I thought people were allowed to buy silver for real money, my mistake.

New History system. We record every kingdom and each single Settlement that wants to get added & provide a description for each. we also will write about Important events that happened such as battles, & about the important people that were very influential in their time here. Welcome to Tamriel Online.

damn, relax buddy, no need to lash out on us. if you dont like the server then just dont play. its that simple.

idk if you read your link well also my friend but if you did you would know theres only about 8 tar pits in the entire world. But your right, i shouldve written:  * It is usually produced, rarely* found*  instead of "It is produced, not found irl".  in any case, our server has tar pits, its just rare as in their only in morrowind, which is even equivalent to the link you sent.

The map is great. Playing for a week now and I love the look and feel and the raw untransformed land. Timers and Skillgain are balanced IMO. It still took me time and effort to build up at least a fenced pen and yet I am not bored by limitless waiting for another skillpoint so I can dig higher slope level, etc...

There is first citizens built towna already too. Gratz for that. Took them efforts to put it up with Guard Tower and such. I like this server. Parked there for now.

If you are basing hardcore play on reality, at least attempt to get your reality right or admit you are just doing it to make the game harder
