Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) I am running windows 10 in virtual box to run wurm on my 2012 macbook pro. I am getting the error that the pixel format is not accelerated. My drivers all say they are up to date, I even went to the intel website and used the driver find tool and it said i was good too. Is there anything else that could cause this (maybe being on windows 10 in a virtual machine?). My MacBook is running el capitan if that matters. Thank you lots Edited October 25, 2015 by Taijyn
Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) well usually it means a video driver that lacks OpenGL functions (and windows will not update for OpenGL, just for DirectX) however I have no idea about VirtualBox/Win10 on a Mac. You have Intel graphics? Do you know what specific Intel graphics chipset? And what the driver date is? VirtualBox on a Mac is beyond my tech level but maybe another Mac user knows more. I would add (Mac) in the title too to attract some other MacBookPro users. Also, some 2012 MacBookPros use Switchable Graphics. See if this article has any clues:MacBook Pro: How to determine which graphics processor is in usehttps://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202053 If it is trying to use Intel graphics but also has Radeon/Nvidia installed, you normally would want to go to Radeon/Nvidia Control Panel and tell it to use the descrete gaming card for java games, OR tell it to always use High Performance graphics (usually 3D settings/Blobal).
