I paid and played for about 6 years many deeds & many accounts and I don't play anymore so this actually is something I am interested in.

You will be able to tweak variables such as initial skill values, skill gain rate, action timers and max number of creatures. It will also be possible to connect servers to each other and travel between them in order to create large persistent clusters.

This is perfect for many people like me who left the game as they just don't have the time commitments required. Now I can run my own server at home and play at my own pace, or join someones hosted server and not have to worry about the costs. Tbh I might even splash out and get a server at OVH or Online.net for 20/30 euros at it should be able to handle a server easily given the map size is only 4x4km to start, assuming I can tailor the server to suit my playstyle.

 

It really is going to make the Wurm player base explode as the games good just the costs (both in time and money) of the Wurm Online servers are a massive put off to most people.

I have been waiting for this since the day I started Wurm 4 years ago.  Sometimes I just don't want to play with a bunch of other people.  Sometimes I don't want to have to deed huge tracts of land just to keep people from harassing me.  My girlfriend left Wurm altogether because of crappy community experience.

 

I won't be leaving WO, but WU can have my whole wallet.
