[New launcher on Test] Cannot start on Ubuntu 64bit

Recommended Posts

Cannot start the test client (with the new launcher) on Ubuntu 14.04

JavaFX Application preview window pops up for half a second, progress bar runs to 100% then nothing happens.

Tried on two computers,

Ubuntu 14.04LTS 64-bit,

Oracle Java 8:

java version "1.8.0_60"
Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_60-b27)
Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.60-b23, mixed mode)

No other java present on the computer

One comp is NVIDIA proprietary, the other is Intel integrated with default driver.

Both load fine the legacy launcher and the game

Tried to clear Java cache, no success.

Tried to load on a Win7 machine, the new launcher starts there fine.

Same problem on OS/X (v10.10.5 - iMac 27" Late 2013)

Found cause of problem, if everything goes well it will be fixed in next test client update.

Launcher works fine, yes... but you're not going to get very far. There's no "play" button.

If there is, it's ridiculously hidden.

Apparently, if there is a pack update, the start button (which is at the top-center of the GUI) says the word "downloading". There is no indication of a play button until the client is restarted.

I can confirm the test launcher loads, updates the packs (failed at first but second run went smooth) and could log into test.

Thanks a lot!!!

[14:05:22] You enter Bridge Test Town.

Looks like some update or another fixed things.  The launcher works fine, now.  Thank you.
