Pemmican is another good one: Any meat (sliced small, dried till brittle, and then pounded), dried and pounded berries, then the powder is mixed with melted fat. EDIT: Both very high in protein and last for months without refrigeration. The main advantage in Wurm could be much slower decay compared to other foodstuffs.
