Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) Would it be possible to have houses on stilts for building in the water or on slopes. Not especially deep water but water none the less. And for slopes not a cliff face but perhaps a slope of up to 40 or 50 and not more than that in height. So you could build on one 40 slope or two 20 slope. And a water depth of say 10 slope below water. Edited August 22, 2015 by Alesondra
Posted August 22, 2015 One awesome idea. I think that the stilts should also work in mid-deep water, maybe up to 60 slopes(6m) below the waterline. Would make floating villages possible, and the houses could be connected with bridges then to make a lovely new way of living.
Posted August 23, 2015 Yes, houses being able to be constructed on *pilings* in the water would be very cool. Either these pilings could be made from trees (1 per tree) at some fixed length for the taller trees or we could also create them out of rock shards adhered to each other to pile them up to a taller height from the water bottom. Then longer wooden beams also created from trees could be used for the current wood floor framing to be built on them, with the rest of the houses on top of that. Maybe limit these types of houses to 2 stories and only wooden bridges used to connect them. Brings to mind some of those wooden Villages along the waters edge in Skyrim. =Ayes=
Posted August 23, 2015 Indeed. Pilings, stilts, and other frameworks for raising structures.
Posted August 23, 2015 Any type of building foundation / footing - concrete, rock, logs, timber that compensates for uneven terrain / building in or over water gets a big, big, big + 1 Need to provide as many avenues as possible for use of the raw materials already in game. Also makes since to give the numerous super creative Wurminians as many creative outlets as possible.
