Posted August 11, 2015 I am unsure what else can be done to try to fix this. I updated java, my graphics card, deleted graphics from the folder so it had to completely re-install it. deleted wurm from java so that it was restarted there as well. Any other ideas? I also do not have the new visuals with the rams.
Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) It might be a bug since they just updated the sheep this morning. Can you post a screenshot of it? I guess you can use /support in game and a gm can check to see for you. Edited August 11, 2015 by Kegan
Posted August 11, 2015 Try verifying your graphics package from the Wurm client startup --> Pack Updates.
Posted August 11, 2015 it was the same when sheep first were added they just forget to add the skins
Posted August 11, 2015 I am guessing you are using the stable client i imagine if it was like that for the unstable one we would have seen more about it already.
Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) I also do not have the new visuals with the rams. even if the lambs = cows, the rams should have the new horns even on stable client 1. Do as Eyegood suggests and Open Wurm Launcher (not while ingame) go to Pack Updates and Verify Packs 2. You mught have unchecked "optional graphics pack" as it caused issues one time in the past, if it is unchecked ty checking it again I dunno on lambs. I remember when they first added Octupuses etc, those appeared as "something else" because the models were not made live. May not be a lot of people breeding right before the change. Is this on Windows, Mac or Linux? Edited August 11, 2015 by Brash_Endeavors
Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) windows 7, I've verified the packs many times, It's like I didn't get the new patch because my male sheep don't look like rams. and I keep trying to add a screenshot but it wont actually post it.http://imgur.com/icAXEcW Edited August 11, 2015 by rubea
Posted August 11, 2015 You could give the Unstable Client a try. A lot of folks use it without issue - see if you have the same problem. At the very least it will help sort out if the issue is central to you or if it's something specific with the stable client/your instance of it.
Posted August 11, 2015 I've heard this happening to a few people. If anyone has solved this for themselves, please let us know what you did to fix it. Also, let us know if today's update changes this for you.
Posted August 11, 2015 ok, it gets even worse, both at my house and my BFs house show the lambs as cows. I tried the unstable and it didn't fix it. So I've got male sheep not rams and the lambs look like cows. any new ideas?
Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) See if it makes any difference if you start Wurm under the "Run As Administrator". (right click the shortcut, "run as administrator") Is your windows account one with administrator privileges? It could be possible that it is suddenly not allowing you to update certain files, for some reason, and if you try to delete and redownload it is just calling up the old file from a "restore" location. Also if you have Wurm installed to an area of protected files (Program Files, USER, %appdata%) you might try uninstalling the game and installing to a location like c:\games\wurm where windows does not try to "protect" you as much. I have heard before of Windows (mostly VISTA version) not allowing changes to certain programs in "protected" paths, and "restoring" what it feels is the correct files if you try to change them in any way (delete and download new version etc, you still end up with the older file). although if this was the problem I would expect half of the users here to be having the same issue, and no one else is reporting it. Its also possible you have an exceptionally touchy security/firewall/antivirus that is trying to "protect correct files" and undoing any changes made in the program. Replaced File Keeps Reverting To Older Version I am surprised however if this is the case that no one else is having the exact same issues, unless there is something unique on your computer. Is it set up to somehow automatically "sync" with another computer? Does it have special security software ? Sometimes AVG gives a few people headaches. When you say you get the same thing at your BFF's house, it is while using the same computer or on a different computer? Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Your console log looks different from my console log, it is much shorter and missing a lot of lines compared to mine. Are you launching from the webpage PLAY or from a shortcut/jlnp, and from stable or unstable? When you get the Wurm launcher, what version number shows up here: \ Also if you go to Wurm/Packs/graphics.jar , select and rightclick for file PROPERTIES, what is the "modified" date shown here? Do the other sections on that properties page look different ffrom mine? Is "Attributes" set to "R" (read-only) or "S" (system) or "H" (hidden) ? folder[path and computer name are surely different but who is listed as "owner" of the file? Is your windows account an administrator account? (It shouldn't need to be, I am just looking for reasons the file might not be properly updating) Edited August 12, 2015 by Brash_Endeavors
Posted August 12, 2015 Just to try and figure this out... Is this perhaps connected to code club asking us to upgrade to java 8 for upcoming features, and the people who have this issue are still on java 7?

Posted August 12, 2015 ok, the computer I use at my BFs house is not the same one I use at home. I tried the run as administrator thing but there was no change. I checked the one on my BFs and it was last modified july 14th so I just deleted that one and am patching right now. I completely deleted the graphics pack at home which forced it to download it again. I am at a loss of what could cause this. I have java 8. Any other ideas? Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) Hopefully the boyfriends one patching will get you up to the "Modified Aug 10 2015" jar. If you still see the cows, recheck the "modified" file date and see if it is telling you July 14 or Aug 10. If it is July 14 again, we should probably see if your computer is either replacing old files without your knowledge, OR if your computer is somehow checking the wrong place for updates. Have you ever modified the HOST file in order to get the game to allow you to update and log into the game? At one time, people were being told two different IP addresses for the patch server. AT the time I thought it was strange if two different addresses both worked, since they would clearly be going to different computer locations, but I never followed up since people were getting ingame and were happy/content. I don't know what would happen if you had the IP address for a different patch server that is no longer getting the latest updates. If you ever edited the HOST file in the past, I would remove all mention of updates.wurmonline.com and let it try to find the current IP address of the patch server on its own. If you never edited the HOST file and have no idea what I am talking about, then never mind On the wurm launcher, also check the PACK UPDATES and see if all three "optional packs" are checked including graphics and experimental. At one time, people were being told to uncheck those as some PMK graphics were causing the login to fail. But it should be safe to check them all again. I tried checking and unchecking them on my system but seemed to get the same results (rams all have horns, since I have no baby lambs to check for cows) Also can you post your entire console.charactername.log because that will confirm the game is not falling back and using an older 32-bit version of java without your knowledge (it happens somewhat frequently) Edited August 12, 2015 by Brash_Endeavors
