Posted July 3, 2015 Now what? I am a follower of Magranon, and my friend is a follower of Vynora. We're planning on both become priests on our respective alt accounts. We both play on Epic, and are looking to make sure we don't gimp ourselves by missing something crucial we should have done/leveled before we turn priest. Any tips? Posted July 3, 2015 Grind characteristics like body control so you can ride stuff. Mind logic too if you want a longer queue. Good luck!
Posted July 3, 2015 Grind characteristics like body control so you can ride stuff. Mind logic too if you want a longer queue. Good luck!Yeah, body control to ride horses and captain boats. Body strength, so that you're not running around slow because you have a few tools that you plan on enchanting in your inventory.ML is kind of a toss up. Don't really need to pre-grind that, as you can gain nice amounts of it as a priest through HFC.
Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) If they are just alt priests really only thing is to grind is a skill to sac items for. Can get 21 bc as priest with archery now anyway.EDIT: now if you want them be eventually pvper priests/strong characters then definitely train the other two resource skills they won't be able to do once they priest.EDIT: also two previous posts you can do all that as a priest. Posted July 3, 2015 I will never again priest an alt without 21 body control.

As was mentioned, just further reinforcing, you really, really want 21 body control first.
Posted July 8, 2015 23 Body Strength is required to Load Cargo, so might want to raise that up too. =Ayes=
Posted July 8, 2015 30 digging and mining would let you evaluate tile borders and mine tile flatness from a couple tiles away. Jewelry smithing is a quick grind to 50+ and would give your priests a decent metal altar creation chance.
Posted July 9, 2015 Noizhead, I am at about 25 Jewelry crafting with one char.. would you be willing to give me a hint on best sequence for raising it from 0-50?
Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Grind any particular body stat pumped by activities your god doesn't like priests doing. Some creation skills are good, ropemaking use to be popular (imping net traps) before the Gods had favor items. Also what has been mentioned already. EDIT: And if you goof, you can always toggle unfaithful on to lose faith. The downside is you lose faith; though, sermons on freedom servers allows for power leveling faith. Posted July 10, 2015 If only it was as simple as getting 30 faith then priesting. As others have said, you'll want any necessary characteristics you might want, before priesting (saves time in the long run)This might be 21bc for horse riding or the requirements for loading cargo, piloting a knarr etc Finally, if you want your priest to be fully self sufficient, you'll want to grind a favor-creation skill to as high as you can. (This is off-putting for a lot of people so I'd suggest doing it on your main account, rather than your priest, unless you know you will stick at it until 80+ before priesting) If 1 of you trains ropemaking, that'll be able to provide favor for any kind of priest and will save you both having to train the skill. Maybe one of you could spam cordage ropes while the other farms the wemp etc. Other than that, things like farming or mining/digging/woodcutting that can be done as a priest depending on which type you are, so don't worry about that until after you priest up. If you are both playing main accounts and just want the priests for enchants/strongwall, you don't really need to bother with much of the above, however if you change your mind later, it'll mean more work to de-priest and then re-priest again. Posted July 10, 2015 As a Mag, you'll probably be mining anyway (since your favour item is door locks), so no real need to push strength up pre-priesting - mining grind is about the same whether you're a priest or not. If you want to be able to ride horses, get BC up before priesting - although it can be ground after priesting, it's rather more painful, due to the priest characteristic gain nerf. Posted July 12, 2015 I will never again priest an alt without 21 body control. Not so bad now that all priests can use archery.
