Since the thread is now 10 pages long, be sure not to miss seeing the workarounds that worked for most (not for all)

1) Manual download of graphics.jar from Wurmpedia link: http://www.wurmonline.com/packs/graphics.jar

-or-

2) Load test client, download all packs, rename test_graphics.jar to graphics.jar

- or -

3)  beanage has a thread with link to a torrent of the file.

Go to your Wurm Installation folder and rename Graphics.jar and Graphics.jar.tmp to something else. Run the launcher and it starts downloading.

Finally watching the download progress.

Edit: Aaaaaand it gets to 100% then starts over and hangs at 0%. Trying the download.

The test client way worked for me. After blowing 2 gigs on crap which didnt even try to work, a few minutes getting the test client got me underway.

Now that i`m in, i`m too afraid to think of logging out.

this worked for me.  I also deleted 32 bit java and installed the new v8 64 bit java

This is what I had to do for my son. Delete the 32 bit java and download the 64 bit.

Packs updated fine then.

Just got up this morning and decided to try again.  Downloaded just fine, no special tricks or fixes, and now I'm about to enter the game and get back at it.  What was it?  2 or 3 in the afternoon in Sweden when the patch went live?  That would make the download bug fixed next day in time for lunch?  Fast work there team.

Of course, in a day or two I'll be building my first stairs.  I just hope they're not invisible. :D

Looks like they just did another update of graphics.jar

Will be curious how it works for people who have not been able to get in since the update.

I should be thanking you, I used a bunch of info from your 64bit thread for my client. :)

The pack updates should now be working as intended.  If this is not the case, please post again here.  There should be no need to use a work around at this time.

what antivirus do you use? Any special firewall? Are you using a proxy connection instead of direct connection?

Sometimes a work or school proxy will mess things up.

From one post that was resolved:

in the "Network settings" tab of the Java control panel it was written "Use the browser settings".

I do not use any proxy server to connect to the Internet; at least, I do not intend to use any.

So I have changed it to "Direct connection", launched the Wurm application and the patch had quickly downloaded.
