so I give up, what is this? (Old Wurm Picture)

Recommended Posts

Is it a wolf? A bear? A bear-wolf?  A very furry horse?

It is before my time :/

(apparently it is from 2005 or so)

It's a wildcat, model used in beta I think.

ah... memories... I miss the old wild cat model. It reminded me of a Lynx instead of a Tabby.

I have a big monitor makes pictures smaller, the far "cheek" looked like a nose =/ I blew up the picture and now it looks like a bobcat. (same thing as a lynx, I think it has different names in different parts of the world)

ps -- if I had gotten my SPYGLASS by now I probably would have known right off what is was....

actually the wildcat is not bad once I am not squinting at it ^_^ I think I might even remember those, I remember something more like a lynx, not a feral housecat,  in the past.

(not that we looked much smarter, standing upright on their backs...)

IIRC, that model stayed until G2.

I could swear I remember seeing them on the JKh map (pre GV era).

I always liked the inverse champion size error...

Having a lava spider model smaller than a bucket run up to you...

Looks adorable until you start screaming from the burn wounds.

When gold came about I think they just altered the texture slightly. The beta one seen in this thread has different shades and looks a bit rougher. After gold they looked much smoother and coloured one shade of brown/orange all over.

That is the first screenshot I ever saw of Wurm, probably mid-2005. As others have said it's a wildcat hehe

Aye the wildcat model that existed when I started.

Tbh it more resembles the bobcats around where I grew up. Lynx also look similar.

Hell there was a time dragons didn't have their own models. They used the cows.

It made for some very confused hunters.

I don't know how they did it, but this is actually what wildcats look like in nightmares.

Personally I liked a lot of the old sounds, such as that sluggish half drunk sounding "Heeey.....oooooveeerrrrrr heeerreee!"
