Nice article here:

But his most enduring quote, as loosely translated by Momofuku superfan Andy Raskin, may be the best to end with.

"Mankind is noodlekind"

What does it mean? Who knows. But it sounds delicious.

Nom nom!

Pretty sure all lower income peoples such as students and the working class can agree, the convenience and low price point of ramen noodles make them an invaluable staple. Best cheap food since sliced bread.

While it is good stuff, excessive eating of these cheap prepackaged ramen have been studied and over time have been found to cause stomach cancer and other things such as heart conditions.

Eat at your own risk :P

Eat at your own risk :P

Studies show, all people who have been in any form of contact with dioxygen, ended up dead at some point.

Breathe at your own risk :P

Studies also show that anyone who've ever lived, died or will die at some point in time.

Live at your own risk

As a former starving graduate student, I agree :)

Yep...  rice and raman... food for the gods.   (And starving college brats)

I like Ramen noodles, especially the beef flavored ones. But they don't like me. Give me bad tummy issues. :(

Though I did eat quite a bit of them when younger. Mayhap they have a cumulative negative effect! Oh noes!

Is ramen not a thing in NZ or is it just called something else?

Those huge processed food corporations don't have marketing divisions for nothing.

I remember fondly many years ago taking the short walk down Kalakaua Avenue to a small ramen noodle soup place. Very tasty with that Asian influence commonplace there. My favorite was chicken adobo though, served in a small booth in that International Marketplace nearby. Homemade by some Filipino family. Good stuffs!

Chicken (??) Flavor ramen with saltines. Throw in a grilled cheese sandwich and one can reach enlightenment.
