how can they say a fresh approach to the open world genre when you have borders left and right of your screen, not to mention top and bottom as well. This is Terraria, i don't see what changed except for the theme. Looks more like starbound now.. anyhow terraria was fun for a few hours but i am not buying this one.

Now there are only so many settings a computer game can be based in. Space, not-space, waybacktimes. I think that about covers it.

terraria was fun but compared to starbound, there wasn't much to do or collect... BUT.. I found terraria bosses and the corruption ravines more creatively challenging than starbound  (recent giraffe update of starbound boss is challenging and fun, except people dont like it because it is 'too hard'). Lets see if the new terraria up to the task and have interesting mod clubs ;)

In other hand, both games suffer on multiplayer as either you play with friend that both of you are clueless or get to endgame gears and play together with strangers -- else it won't be fun because the equips are gap to travel to locations or even do a dent to bossess :/

Continuing the parade of news:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/06/29/terraria-patch-1-3-this-week/

http://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads%2F1-3-changelog.20617%2F

  • "Revamped Town NPCs. They now sit, avoid monsters, socialize, avoid sitting near chests, and fight back against threats!"

It sure seems like they're pulling out all the stops: flying saucers, power armor, flying crystals, flying pirate ships, new NPCs, a portal gun, a "camera mode" that apparently lets you look at different areas of the map, an "expert mode" for those who yawn at hard mode.

Supposed to be the last big update.

Yea its not bad at all for a bit of a pace change.

I pumped around 350 hrs into it on steam.

But then i was a massive fan of side scrolling action games when 2d was king.

Interesting.. As somebody who's been playing the game since 1.0 It's nice to see how much this game has changed! And that the development team is keeping it alive!

Back in 2011 or 2012 they said they was gonna stop making updates.. Then this year I learned it was back! Been playing it a lot lately hehe!

But I don't have all my amazing gear anymore.. Which is prob junk gear compared to the new stuff..

But this looks awesome! I like that tree fell down to be chopped up.. They're doing amazing things with 2D graphics.
