Posted February 6, 2015 Recently I heard something about Dye Alpha quality.I had never heard of this and did not believe it. I was told that Quality + RGB both play a role, while I was always in impression that only RGB matters.Only way to prove it is to of course test it. I took two black dyes. One 89ql and one 32ql. BUT - both have same RGB which is R=9 G=9 B=9. I never play with GLSL shader toggled ON, as it really makes dyes look dull as the pictures will soon show.He claimed [well actually two people claimed] that it only shows the Alpha on GLSL shader toggled ON. I still did not believe and here's the results. Two test dyes. Equal RGB. Used the 89ql with GLSL toggled ON Used the 32ql next to 89ql with GLSL toggled ON. And here's picture of both with GLSL toggled OFF. Result:Quality does not matter. Only the RGB does. P.S. I have 500kg of this for sale in freedom lol
Posted February 6, 2015 I would assume the ql is only related to the start rgb, maybe to the decay rate too?
Posted February 6, 2015 Yea only on the beginning it's accurate pointer, after you start mixing it really doesn't matter. On decay im not sure, you can always reset dye decay easily, take out 0.01kg with reed pen and pour back in.Store dyes in caves and they decay slow - larger amounts even slower.Like 1kg can get about 5dmg in 6months, which is slow and easy to reset.
