Posted January 22, 2015 I am using Windows Live Mail in Windows 8.1. I am not sure if my problem is because of Windows 8.1 or because of Windows Live Mail. I use gmail and imap. In Quick View, it will list each new message exactly 3 times every time without fail. Is there something I have set wrong? Or is there another mail client that I can dump this and use? Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) I don't know anything about Windows Live Mail, at all =/ I tend to use a webmail program for my own domain email. If I were still using a standalone email client it would probably be using an ancient outdated copy of Eudora. I am not much good with newfangled things. I did find these threads which might help Why do emails show multiple times in Windows Live Mail quick views?Windows Live Mail - hundreds of duplicate messages for one accountReceiving duplicate emails on Windows Live Mail Some suggest cleaning out the inbox fixed the issue. In one case, a lot of users reported all being from Sympatico ISP (is that your ISP by any chance?) One issue mentionned is if peopke have the email set to check say every two minutes, but it takes longer than that to download, so it keeps trying and redownloading again and again. This appears to be why cleaning out the inbox helps a few people. Setting a linger timer instead to every 10-30 minutes seems to help those though they still recommend cleaning out inbox to fix "stuck" emails.. The other issue seems to be one email showing several times under different filters, so the same email shows once as "unread" and once as "important" and once as "all mail" etc. "Basically hide all of the various folders from Outlook, and the messages will only appear once (for example, hide the 'Important' label, and the 'All mail' label)" then I guess it only shows "Unread" and not all duplicated for the other possible filters too. Posted January 22, 2015 Thanks, Brash. I have been through pages of pages. I deleted every last item stored locally and server-side. Changed the filters... ugh. I remember Eudora. Maybe I can find it fossilized in amber somewhere! Thanks for helping out. It didn't do this on Windows 7. I am ready to kick it to the curb!
