Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Didn't hit enter before starting to type today and one of the keys I typed was my key bound to the mining action. I happened to be standing on a area that was rock at all points but which had a fenceline beside me. Despite this, the surface mining action was allowed, and the action produced a shard and thus lowered the slope - and in the process dropped the border which had the fence on it, which should not have been possible. Have tested it in a couple of situations where the surface mining conditions are met by being all rock but with fences on, and was able to reproduce each time. Posted November 22, 2014 this is normal. It is how you mine paths on very steep mountains. Build a horizontal fence that you can rest on to get stam back.
