You'll need to get your cheese sandwiches handy to be able to scale mountains for those seals.  I don't usually see them lying around on water level clay tiles, as pictured above.

Troll king has a cow hat nowadays.

Thanks for another great update, loving the new animals. The seal cub makes me wanna breed seals even more.... but only so I can "harvest" them when they're adults. Can we get forever cubs? So awesome to see the sheep in game right after the update, think they're hiding from the wolves tho... not often you see a sheep making mooing noises. xP

Portcullis

Wox has previously shown you the early work in progress of the new gate type Portcullis.
It quickly became quite popular and he has now progressed further.
It certainly is an impressive and sturdy gate, currently only intended for use with fences.
So we put together a short video for you to appreciate it fully with sound effects and animation.

Select Bar

The icons have been added to the interface.
Only a few dynamic update situations remaining to take into account. At least from what we can currently tell.
So progress on the bar is looking good but it probably will get added at a later time with a larger update.

Trimless Walls

Just click the image for a larger version.

As promised here is a work in progress shot of the highly anticipated trimless walls.
A new tasty bit of news is that we are also making the door, double door and arches available in trimless versions!

Big Creature Update
We have finished working on the last bit of code for the creatures previously announced.
They will be added at the same time as the sheep which will be in with the next update!

Let me first present our previously unannounced creature.

Seal Cub


Once more we are trying to push the limits for cuteness overload.
This little cub will of course try to keep close to its kin for protection as it is quite easy prey.

Here is a list of all the creatures going live with the update.

Epic Legendary Titles
All level 100 legendary titles that was previously only available on freedom will with the next update be activated on the epic cluster.
How many of you PvP Wurmians have a level 100 skill?

Community and Work competition

We have received a lot of feedback saying projects are in motion but the time to plan was to short.
So I am adding an extra week of time for you to finish your contributions to the competition.

Do not forget there is 30 sleep powders to share amongst the people participating in each winning contribution.
Reminder 2 to current and soon to be participants.
List the people in the pictures so they also get credit for the shot and are viable for sharing the sleeping powder!

Oh that little seal cub, I am dreading what the Wurmians will do to it.
Can we not get a "Don't club the Cub" group going to save this poor soul from Wurmian wrath?
I fear it might be much to ask.
Though I know art director Saroman has given it some special features to at least make it extra hard on your conscience.
Like that would stop you right?
Also, thanks to everyone participating in the contest, I am hoping to see more!

You must realy hate the fishing skill. Next step is the blue marlin? Do dolphins and whales add anything new, besides being just another imagery of unbutchered meat? Like we do not have enough with bizons, trolls, pumas,... for that. Whaling skill, or fishing for that matter? Harpoons? Soap? Anything that makes them worth spending company resources on?


 


Did you cancel bridges? It seems very hard to give even a tiny bit of information.

I would get excited about the new creatures, but for those of us living in SE Xanadu, it is really difficult to stay positive and not just say: Thanks for nothing. 4 months and there are still no creatures, yet you just keep adding more to the game that we will never see. I guess it is time to leave Xanadu behind. The fix to the spawn rates that was announced today apparently didn't fix anything around the Esteron area. Before the server went down, I travelled to Esteron from the south part of S24 (Through 4 map tiles, checking the 5th before I leave the server), and all I met on my way was a hen, and a bred cow, and not a single creature in that big lake either.

The portcullis is outstanding, especially the sound effects.  


 


I would only suggest that rather than making it open at the normal speed of other doors, maybe make it open slower like a real portcullis would?  I think placing a short delay on allowing the player to pass through and slowing the animation just a little bit would really add some additional realism to it.


 


The critters are awesome as well.

I heard the word "pliers" dropped somewhere, because it's a tool we can make already, but doesnt really have a purpose.

Also the ships (cows model when alive, dead player model when dead)


 


Guess we should expect a client update too, but probably tomorrow since is already 19:06 in Sweden.

Can we expect to get some love for land animals and some new skills to come?


Example foxes,squirrel, and rabbits with the ability to make wooden fox and rabbit traps we can set out and come back later and check to see if we caught any thing?


New skills Trapping and Taxidermy


Maybe we can eventually get taxidermy so we can have stuffed trophies to decorate out homes with?


Can we eventually see rare named animals that are harder to kill but soloable if geared good enough like named bears lions etc... that could be taxidermy with there Rare name above them so people can see your feats threw out the lands of wurm?


 


Just some things I feel wurm online is missing from the pve aspect of a game built on survival. This don't mean much to a pvp player  and to some it might but to us pve fans this means alot.

 awesome update sheep look like cows and trellis's are a burlap bag with a ? , and you break harvesting to !?!?! AWESOME INDEED !
