Can anyone confirm you can still have "house bridges" ?

I think the way it worked was, you plan a house, lets say 2x5 and you build out the walls to complete the 1st floor. 


 


Then you complete the 2nd floor above.


 


Then you knock down the walls below the middle section of this structure and you end up with the 2nd floor tiles floating over empty tiles where you knocked the walls down below.


 


Does this still work?


 


I would like to build a gatehouse where there is an empty gap between two sides that then connect above over the opening in between.

No, you cannot build floating floors. You need some sort of support under the second floor.

What If you leave 3 walls, and then leave 1 wall gone? Cause I want to do the same installing a palisade gate.

As long as the outer walls are up to support the upper levels, it should work.

Why not use arched walls?

 

Can I place a tall iron fence / pallisade gate in an arched wall opening?
