i can double click on target and throw an activated item, but the

throw option doesnt show up in the drop down menu.

 

checked settings and couldnt see any options to eneble/disable

this, so maybe it was removed at one point?

It's kind of derpy, afaik the way most people throw atm is activating ranged stance, activating an item in inventory, and then throwing.  Using this method doesn't require you to be in combat/melee range with the person/creature you're throwing at.  If you activate the item, go into combat range, and stand like ~1 tile away from the target, you should be able to Rclick > Throw.

 

The former method is typically still easier, again, because you don't have to be within 2 tiles range of the target to throw something at it.
