Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) Upon the peak of Mt Nyriandiol a forest is growing. One of maple, walnut, linden and chestnut. A scattering of oaks, willows and various bushes completes the magic. The forest is well tended, the area is bountiful. Yet it is also so very quiet, I'm rather used to having plenty of neighbours. I once founded a large community on release, one torn apart by greed and competition. This project is, I hope, one what will not suffer the same fate. Thus I am offering an invitation to like minded people (those who enjoy the kind of forest mentioned above) to live upon this peak with me. Crucial Information : 40 min walk up/down to the waterfront through a hidden passagewayPrime flattened land on offerIron, Marble and Slate local. Extensive mine with plenty of potential for expansion, largely unprospected (305 tiles of unprospected tunnel).New & Experienced players welcome, be you just starting out or an experienced wurmian looking to enjoy the quiet life.Important Notes : Large scale farmers/ranchers (tree murderers) are not encouraged to apply. Smallscale farmers (think 11x11 max) are welcome.Players will be encouraged to keep their own microdeed, though I have a spare bed for anyone looking to lodge for a while. This is foremost aimed as a forest community (cannot stress this enough), so expect gravel paths, enough trees to make a druid happy and the most amazing view on Xanadu. We aim to keep it hat way too, so while cutting of trees is welcome it is expected you'd replant with the same tree type!I do ask that anyone who does deed up here leaves their perimeter to the forest (considering that perimeters have NO protection whatsoever now I doubt this will be an issue)The aim is to found a community, one where people are not afraid to help one another out but also not afraid to say that they can't.A Few BenefitsA largely abandoned area at the base of the peak, perfect for larger personal projects. The safety of isolation, with community members and those they invite the only ones able to reach the peak without significant effort (and likely death)Animals seem to love this place, one can live entirely from hunting around hereFree fo casts for localsGuidance and wisdom of a wurm veteranContacts around the world for those with wanderlustPeople in particular that would be welcomeMinersCraftsmen/womenForesters/Foragers/HuntersTerraformers If this rather specialised kind of life sounds good to you drop me a pm on here. Posted August 15, 2014 I fondly wear the title of *Forester* while working these Wurm wooded lands, tending to their preservation by having gathered so many of their new budding sprouts that one day this elusive title was mine to embrace. Due to my tendency to use a speedy sickle it took me some years before I finally slowed down enough to use one of the slower variety and then have this title within my hands firm grasp. I say all this simply because I can appreciate your treasuring these same trees that may even be descendants from those I have brought here from another far off island. These sprouts then gently planted here may have their spores travel aloft across the server of Xanadu to settle upon distant mountain ranges far removed from the common travelers crushing boot steps. There they shall once again thrive, grow and prosper under others caring hands such as your own. At your more remote location they shall hopefully avoid those careless cuts of the tree murderers terrible axe dripping with their life blood which unbeknownst to them sustains our lands. A noble endeavor your pursue here and I wish you much success in your efforts of sustenance and preservation of the wonderful trees within our Wurm homelands. In my time I have met a few who quietly went about their way replanting the deforested lands with secretive care lest others would detect them and decide to disrupt their protective preservation methods; so perhaps it is best you have settled within this less traveled and disturbed location where you can enjoy the trees seasons as they cycle through their endless growth not touched by the fearful woodsman's axe. As for me I have settled in a more populous area where the silent falling of trees is clearly heard by those attuned to their nature. There the battle rages on as each new one is planted with care and concern for their future growth, stealthily replanted when the careless tree murderer has departed leaving only the poor stump remaining as a tribute to their glory once reaching far skyward. Even here they may thrive through dedicated efforts and planting less yielding varieties where the passers by are more likely to look for their latest victims for other purposes to suit their needs. So although your generous offer would appeal to one of my nature, I must continue to make my pursuits my own independent of others influence. I just wanted to let you know that there are others out there I have met along the way who hold these same ideals closely tied to their daily lives within these our fair Wurm homelands. Forests sustain all life and what more noble endeavor could there be than this. By the way, I used to do a lot of building in other distant worlds (Active Worlds) with a friend called Ether. Would you by chance be any relation to this individual? Either, neither or nor... Safe Travels=Ayes=
