Show DMG of items/structures by hovering the mouse over it

Recommended Posts

Ok I know this was probably suggested before but a search didn't bring up any results...

When you get over 20 repairing (or other lvl the devs see fit), you are able to see the DMG of items and structures by hovering the mouse over it, like:

  Oven
DMG: 0.0

Yeah, I know we can do that by a simple "Examine", but if we follow this way of thinking, we can also examine or double-click to see the slope of a tile but at 15 digging skill the slope is shown by hovering the mouse.

I could have sworn it worked this way many years back. Either I haven't gotten up to the skill may prior character had or i'm imagining things. :D

+1 if i'm imagining things ;)

+1 with maybe a setting in launcher to enable/disable for ppl who dont like it,

I don't see why it would be a problem for pvp. I'd set the bar a lot higher than 20 repairing though, say at 50 repair.

well I live on epic and really if it has the range of examine (1-2 tiles away) then its not really a big pvp breaker as they could (gasps) examine- so basically what they normally do - and with the hours it takes to catapult through a good defense the 11 secs they saved versus hours on easier repairs isn't a factor that breaks pvp but does help with defense and pve areas

Yeah, I don't think it'd harm PvP. In fact, something similar was suggested before, except it was tied to the catapult skill rather than repairing, and that was pretty well-supported iirc

I'd simply do it like farming
at a skill it unlocks and at farther skills you get more info

at

25 skill - can see basic info at 1 tile of damage 1-100

50 skill - QL and info 2 tiles

70 3 tiles

90 4 tiles

would not break pve or pvp

Psst... Miscellanous items skill still don't have it's own practical use..

Repairing would be fine too, but everyone has repairing.

I can't see how it would affect pvp negatively.  Love the idea.

I'm all for it on the PvP servers, but yeah, a option would be nice.

It seems like the majority of PvP concerns could be resolved by simply limiting how far away a mouse over shows you damage.  Eliminating the need to examine by putting it on a mouse over, but not having the mouse over show this unless you're withing range to examine it seems to mitigate any issues with this, IMO.
